Sonoro is running its annual choral conducting masterclass over the weekend of 11/12 July 2026 in St Gabriel's Halls in Pimlico, London. There are eight places available for choral directors to gain insights and tips from Neil Ferris, and also a limited number of spaces for observers to watch the process, with options to attend one or both days. Some of Sonoro's singers will be there on the second day so that the conductors get to work with experienced professionals.

The annual Merton SingFest was started in 2017 as a collaboration between Wimbledon Choral, Merton Music Foundation and Sonoro to highlight the immense choral richness within the London borough that spans all ages from the youngest to the crinklies. All types, shapes and sizes of choirs participate and it is fabulous fun - kept topped up by plentiful refreshments and cakes.

We were delighted to welcome the composer of 'Critical Mass', Tarik O'Regan, to our final rehearsal before the world premiere this coming weekend. In this interview, Tarik sheds light on how the original 'Agnus Dei' came about and also his desire to collaborate with writers with whom he has worked before in order to provide the contemporary twist to the text of 'Critical Mass'.

Wimbledon Choral's new commission, Tarik O'Regan's 'Critical Mass', came about via a collaboration with several parties including UK-based Wild Plum Arts. Here, their Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Lucy Schaufer, explains how they played their role in getting the text written for this work.
