Our new research shows more than 1,500 people every day are leaving paid work to provide unpaid care, more than double the rate seen in 2019.
Many carers who want to remain in paid work are facing difficult decisions about their careers, their financial security and their futures, due to the pressures of balancing paid work and unpaid care.
With 6.7 million employees having caring responsibilities, stronger workplace support for unpaid carers has never been more important.
Urgent action is needed from government including the introduction of a statutory right to paid Carer’s Leave.
