Girls United is an organisation that fights for a world with a level playing field, on and off the pitch – using football as a tool for the empowerment of individuals and to promote gender equality. We set-up clubs and programmes in local communities that create safe spaces for football practices that go beyond the technical and tactical by using our Girls United Methodology, to develop confident

leaders and role models. We provide players with the opportunity to succeed on and off the pitch by developing life skills that allow them to find their voices and pursue their ambitions in sport, education and in their careers.

Many mums were told sport wasn’t for them. Today, they’re cheering their daughters on with pride. We asked them to reflect on how much has changed.

Last week, we hosted a Careers Workshop at Wembley with and Girls United FC sponsor , expanding visibility of opportunities in sport beyond playing.

Fifteen young people connected directly with leaders from and gaining insight into roles across media, technology and football, while partners heard first hand about players’ ambitions and experiences. This reflects a key goal, not just increasing participation, but widening access to leadership and career pathways within sport.

“It was so lovely to meet all of the girls and hear about their passions, some of them had such excellent ideas. Everyone at VERSUS is so grateful and we would love to be involved again.” Katie Catherall, versus

Our 24/25 Impact Report spotlight on Girls United FC. 🏆

FC teams London and Mexico continued to bridge grassroots and the competitive game, with players developing confidence, leadership and technical ability. Players report feeling 85% more confident in training and 76% more confident in matches, with clear pathways from Play Like a Girl and Love the Game into competitive football. ❤️

In Mexico, girls in our programmes were nearly twice as likely to enjoy 60 minutes of daily activity, rising from a national average of 35% to 65%.⚡️

“My goal is to become a better leader and never hesitate to give feedback to teammates.” Florence, U11

And now for our 24/25 Impact Report spotlight on Play Like a Girl. 🔍✨

Across London and Mexico, PLG continued to create consistent, safe spaces for girls to play,
grow in confidence, and stay connected to football. In London, 403 girls took part, 99% said they
felt more confident after attending sessions, and 97% felt more determined. 🫶🏻🙌🏼

In Mexico, parents reported clear growth in confidence, teamwork and communication, with 96% saying they would absolutely recommend the programme. ❤️

“Usually people say girls can’t play football, but playing here has shown me that everyone can.” Gabriella, age 9😄

The future. Their voices.📣

This is the third story in our Football is Our Language campaign, looking ahead to the players who will continue to shape the game.

In Mexico, we asked our players: what would you say to a girl who is afraid to play football?

Their answers remind us that it’s normal to feel scared, but to face it. To find confidence. To lean on your community and the people around you. “We all start out not knowing.”

From 1971 to now and into the future, football continues to be a space for connection, confidence and community.

The next generation is already shaping what comes next. ⚽🌏

Our 24/25 Impact report is here! 🥳

We’re excited to share our growth and impact, starting off with a spotlight on our Love the Game programme in Mexico and the UK. ⚡️❤️

This past season, 1,342 girls took part across 25 schools, with Love the Game launching in Mexico in January 2025. 92% said the programme improved their confidence in sport, 95% felt more confident at school, and 100% said they felt more confident being active.

“Confidence means to be a leader that knows what they’re doing and a person that perseveres.”✊

Consistent access matters. When girls have regular opportunities to play, confidence grows on and off the pitch.
