Lily, a much-loved cat, who lives on Mayeswood Rd in Chinbrook Meadows near to Grove Park cemetery, has been missing for over a week which is not usual for her as she generally stays in the home or garden or nearby allotment site. She is friendly and affectionate and responds to Lily, and is a fairly small, very pretty, tabby cat.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR SHEDS, CELLARS, GARAGES. Thank you.

Self managed allotments and Community Orchard

The allotments have been self managed since the early 1970s and recently we have joined with a Community Orchard at the same location:

Chinbrook Meadows Allotments is also the home of Chinbrook Community Orchard planted by Lewisham Council in 1991/92 as a resource for local schools for environmental education. Most of the trees are traditional (mostly Kentish), varieties of fruit trees including filberts (or cobnuts), plums, greengages, pears, cherries, walnuts and 27 varieties of apples. A few more exotic species were also planted such as olives, grape vines, cork oak and stone pines.

The whole allotment site has been designated as a grade 11 Site of Borough Importance for nature conservation.
