It's National Volunteers Week! A time to remember and thank the wonderful people that support and help our association. All our adults give their time voluntary, be it running crews, instructors, admin roles, fundraising or that extra support on trips or camps. It's also thanks to our association's background support, from our council of management to individuals dealing with pubilicity, uniform sales, policies and safety, this list is endless.
Each and every one of you are valued.

With warm weather forecast this weekend and into next week, more of us will enjoy spending time in, on, or around water, so it’s important to stay safe.

Almost half (47%) of UK accidental drownings happen between May and August, with higher risks during warmer weather.

Keep yourself and your family safe:
• Check for hazards, including depth, currents, tides, and hidden underwater objects.
• Stay together and swim in lifeguarded areas.

In an emergency:
• Call 999 immediately
• If you fall in or become tired, stay calm, float on your back, and call for help

As we remember and reflect on the remarkable life of Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 100th birthday. Sea Rangers will remember her kindness, compassion, loyalty and devotion to service. Our youngsters are proud that she was part of our history and she will be remembered with love.

Today marks the launch of Phone Float Throw, the latest bystander rescue campaign from the National Water Safety Forum (NWSF), of which RLSS UK is a member.

If you see someone struggling in the water, your first instinct might be to jump in, but that can put you in danger. Instead, remember:

📱 PHONE 999 for help
🌊 Tell them to FLOAT on their back
🛟 THROW rescue equipment to keep them afloat until emergency services arrive
