Today’s visit to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice was incredibly moving. We were given a tour by Amanda (community engagement officer) and saw first-hand the wonderful care and support provided to seriously ill children and their families during some of the most difficult times imaginable.

We also learnt that only 19% of the hospice’s £4.7 million annual running costs are funded by the Government, meaning the vast majority has to be raised through donations and fundraising.

Having personally experienced the care provided by hospices for adults, there was never any doubt that this is a cause we should support especially as it cares for children.

We have now raised over £17,000 and are so close to our £20,000 milestone! 🙏💙

Please, if you can, contact a few friends, family members or colleagues and tell them what our club is doing. Even a small donation can help us reach that £20,000 target and, more importantly, help Noah’s Ark continue supporting children and families when they need it most.

I am excited to share that we as a club are taking part in the Noah's Ark Children's Hospice Steptember challenge 🚶🚶 to raise money to support their work! I cannot believe how it is going and how generous our supporters have been - only 9 days into the month we have raised £12,123 already. As children head back to school this week, many will be looking forward to seeing friends, settling into new routines and getting back to the classroom.

But for children living with life-threatening or life-shortening conditions, returning to school isn’t always straightforward.

Hospital appointments, treatment and time spent recovering at home can mean being away from school for weeks or even months. And when a child isn’t physically in the classroom, it can be easy for the gap between them and their classmates to grow.

But education isn’t simply about academic progress. It’s about childhood itself.

At Noah’s Ark, our Family Link Team works alongside children, families and schools to help make that possible. That might mean supporting schools to make reasonable adjustments, helping families navigate challenges or finding ways for children to stay connected when they can’t be there in person.

Technology can play a part too. Our AV1 robots allow children receiving treatment to join their classroom remotely - from lessons and assembly to lunchtime and even school trips.

🎇We have officially passed the **£9,700 mark** for our Steptember challenge in aid of Noah’s Ark Children's Hospice! and our 100th donation 👟🎉

On behalf of the Lions Club of London, I am completely blown away by the incredible kindness and generosity shown so far. 🦁💙

Our participants have been putting their heart and soles into this challenge in the most inspiring ways! ✨ A special shoutout to one of our wonderful team members who spent Janmashtami (celebration of the birth of Krishna ) - volunteering at the Hare Krishna Temple (Bhaktivedanta Manor) 🙏🪷—not only offering selfless service on such a sacred occasion, but clocking up thousands of steps for the cause at the same time! 👣🌟 That spirit of giving back is truly what this is all about.
