Why not come along and join our free summer walk (although donations always welcome). A ramble around Crofton and Sparrow Woods led by RSPB Bromly Local Group's Jane Andrews. Hear about the history of the area, its mammals, butterflies and birds. Also the plans to make improvements for users.
We will follow a similar but not identical route to the recent RSPB Local Group walk at the same location - just adding in the old fever hospital location, and more on the work being done to improve the woods.
The sun may even be out again - which means there will be late summer butterflies around.

We could not resist sharing these wonderful wildlife photos from Group Member Richard Harris's recent trip to Finland, joined by family. The range of woodpeckers made us want to jump on a plane and see them for ourselves!
Richard's son and his family spent a few days with them at their cottage. We were particularly impressed by the photos taken by granddaughter, Lydia, who is showing real talent in wildlife photography.

Environmental Action Coney Hall (EACH) in conjunction with St John's Church invites Local Group members to join them on Saturday 12 September for a screening of the film: The National Emergency Briefing on Climate Change.

Location: St John's Church, Layhams Road, West Wickham BR4 9HJ
Saturday 12 September 7pm - 9pm

The film draws on a wide range of expertise to document the impact of our fast-changing climate. It's not party political and helpfully offers solutions we can all embrace. The film will be followed by space to share ideas and observations, and invitations will be extended to Coney Hall's MP and local councillors.
(EACH is a local environmental group aligned with other local groups like Well Wood Volunteers & Friends of the Park.)

Sometimes, the night offers up its best kept secrets ✨🌙

A group of 20 walkers, took part in a Nightjar Walk at Broadwater Warren, spotting nightjars, a pipistrelle bat, and glow worms, all whilst being serenaded by the sound of woodlarks
