Wells on Wheels

Women in rural India walk an average of 1-2 miles a day, carrying water on their heads.

Wells on Wheels objectives are to relieve the poverty amongst people in rural India by provision of 'Water Wheels' which allow such people to gain access to water.

One Water Wheel can carry 5 times the amount of water a traditional bucket can hold. So having the Water Wheel means that mom doesn't need to travel to the well twice a day, her children don't need to get involved in carrying heavy water pails, and they can instead spend their time going to school and enjoying their childhood💧🚰

A heartfelt thank you to .angela.auluck and her family for joining our team to help deliver Water Wheels to a local village! Their support enables us to reach more homes, providing families with a sustainable way to access water and easing the daily burden on women and children.

We’re continually expanding our efforts to deliver Water Wheels to the communities that need them most, and partnerships like this make it all possible. 🌍💧

Knowing that young girls and their mothers are suffering from numerous musculoskeletal disorders and a lack of education due to water collection duties is so devastating.
This is the situation in thousands of villages in India today, and we are doing everything we can to break this vicious cycle.

A lot of the wells in these rural villages are dried up from the drought, so the functioning wells are very crowded during the day. Sometimes girls wait the whole day for their turn but return home without water at the end of the day.

Let's help to break the wheel of poverty with our Water Wheel - you can donate £28 to make a difference 💧🚰
