Hadassah participated in a groundbreaking oncology trial with results in the medical world!
For the first time, a personalised mRNA-based cancer therapy has shown positive, statistically significant results in a Phase 3 clinical trial by Moderna and Merck. Hadassah Hospital was among the participants
The treatment uses genetic sequencing to identify the unique mutations in each patient’s tumor and create a personalised therapy designed specifically for them.
“This requires a level of personalised medicine that, until now, the medical world has not been able to provide,” explains Dr. Jonathan Cohen, Director of the Oncology Clinical Trials Unit at Hadassah.
Hadassah is recruiting patients for treatments using the same approach for lung cancer and metastatic melanoma, with research continuing across additional cancer types. This breakthrough is an exciting new chapter in precision cancer treatment—and Hadassah is leading the way.
