What are we raising funds for?
We, the youth of Bangladesh, have taken responsibility into our own hands because our dictatorial government has failed us for over a decade. We vehemently disagree with how our country has been run over the last 20 years. Senior government officials have prioritized their personal financial gains over the welfare of the country. Our current government lacks ambitious economic goals necessary for ensuring a secure and prosperous future for our nation and our people. Additionally, our education system, the backbone of a strong nation, has been ruined by outdated methods that produce obedient followers, enabling government control for the foreseeable future.
We have had enough and are fighting for a better future for all generations by overthrowing this government, aiming to establish a system where the future leaders are chosen by us, the youth!
Unfortunately, in this struggle, we have lost more than 2,000 young lives as of August 4, 2024, within the last three weeks. Most of these martyrs were students and general public. We desperately need your help as there is little to no support available.
How the funds will be used:
Relief for Families: Providing financial support to the families of those who have lost their lives or are unable to work due to injuries sustained during the revolution. Currently, there is no financial aid available for our young martyrs, and many of them were the sole breadwinners for their families.
Communication Infrastructure: Establishing secure communication channels to organize and coordinate activities safely. Our government has blocked mobile networks twice, making it difficult for us to communicate.
Supplies and Equipment: Purchasing essential supplies such as food, water, protective gear, and medical supplies for those on the front lines.
Media and Outreach: Funding independent media outlets and social media campaigns to counter government propaganda and keep the public informed.
Community Centers: Setting up safe spaces for youth to gather, strategize, and receive support, fostering a sense of unity and purpose.
Mental Health Support: Offering counseling and mental health services to those affected by the ongoing conflict and trauma.
We are at a crucial juncture in our nation's history. The young people of Bangladesh have risen with unwavering determination to fight for a future where justice, freedom, and prosperity are not just dreams but realities. Our battle is not just against a dictatorial regime but against decades of corruption, neglect, and oppression that have stifled our country's growth and potential.
These martyrs believed in a better Bangladesh, and their sacrifice must not be in vain. Their families, now left without their primary source of support, need our help more than ever.
We cannot do this alone. We need your support to continue our struggle, to provide relief to those who have lost everything, to build the infrastructure that will keep us connected and coordinated, and to ensure that the world hears our voice through independent media.
