Assalamu Alaikum dear sisters,

As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadhan, we pray that it brings healing, peace, and renewal to your heart. This is a month of mercy, a time to slow down, reflect, and reconnect—most of all, with the Qur’an, the healing for our hearts and guidance for our lives.

“And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers…” (Qur’an 17:82)

Whatever you are carrying, know that you do not have to carry it alone. Ramadhan is a time of turning back to Allah, of seeking ease, and of finding comfort in community. At Maryam Support Line, we are here for you—wherever you are, whatever you are facing. If you need someone to listen, to remind you of hope, or simply to hold space for your heart, our line is open.

May this month bring you nearness to Allah, light to your soul, and healing to every part of you that needs it.

With love and duas,
The Maryam Support Line Team

Find strength in surrender—Allah is more than enough. 🌸

Trusting Allah isn't about knowing how or when things will work out—it's about believing they will, because He promised. 🌿✨ When life feels heavy, uncertain or overwhelming, just remember this: Allah's plan is always greater than the one we have for ourselves. Lean into and fall into that trust. 🕊️💖

He sees you. He knows your struggles, and He will provide for you in ways you never expected. 💜🌟

NEW ARTICLE ALERT: Healing Through Grief: Finding Comfort and Strength in Islam

Inna lilahi wa inna illahi raji'un—To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return. These words offer a profound reminder of our place in the universe and the temporary nature of our worldly existence. Losing a loved one is undoubtedly one of the hardest trials we face in this life. Yet, Allah (SWT) has created us to worship Him and live in communities where we support one another. Talking about our feelings of sadness and loss is an essential step toward healing.

🌸 Compassion Fatigue: A Silent Strain on the Heart 🌸

Compassion fatigue is the emotional and physical exhaustion that comes from caring deeply for others, often to the point of neglecting ourselves. As Muslim women, balancing family, cultural, and spiritual duties, we can be especially susceptible. Whether it’s caregiving, supporting loved ones, or serving our communities, our constant giving can lead to feelings of burnout and detachment. Recognising these signs is vital so we can care for ourselves while continuing to give with love and sincerity.

🤲 Remember, self-care is not selfish—it’s necessary. ❤️

A dear friend shared this quote yesterday, it was so moving I thought to share. Life can knock you down sometimes, and seemingly out of nowhere. Allah knows why, and Allah knows how He will help you through it.

BLOG POST ALERT: How Muslim Mental Health Support Can Change Lives

Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, yet it is often overlooked or stigmatised within many communities. For Muslim women, seeking mental health support can be particularly challenging due to cultural pressures, misconceptions, and a lack of resources that align with Islamic values. However, Muslim mental health support can significantly change lives by providing compassionate, faith-based guidance and understanding.

Our founder, Lizzamah Akinlade, recently had the pleasure of giving a webinar on stress management, with a focus on the well-being of women. In the session, she explored the profound impact of stress on health, how to recognise the signs, and shared practical techniques to alleviate it.

She discussed a range of approaches including talking therapy, aromatherapy, nutrition, walking, massage, and dhikr (mindfulness), empowering attendees with ways to mitigate stress and maintain balance.

We are incredibly grateful to Old Kent Road Mosque & Islamic Cultural Centre - MAN UK for inviting her back to share this important message and for the warm reception! 🙏

Our religion is so comprehensive alhamdulilah, we literally have a tool to manage each and every emotion. As we all begin adulting, life can be harder and harder to manage, but alhamdulilah we have so much in Islam that teaches us how to manage unwanted emotions, how to transform negative energy into positive energy. With your words and actions you can transform negativity into positivity 🧡

🌍 World Mental Health Day - A Time for Reflection 🧠💚

Today, let's pause to acknowledge the importance of mental health, not only for our emotional well-being but also for our physical health and longevity. In fact, research shows that people with strong mental health tend to live longer, healthier lives. Did you know that 1 in 4 people will be affected by mental health challenges in their lifetime?

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and there are steps we can take to review and renew our mental well-being. Here are three ways to start:

Energy Check:
What Drains and What Fulfills? 🌱
We all have things that drain our energy, but what brings joy, purpose, and vitality into your life? Focus on those activities that fulfill and energise you to create a more balanced and meaningful day-to-day experience.

Evaluate Your Relationships:
"Go Where You Are Celebrated" 💜
Take a moment to reflect on the relationships in your life. Are they supportive and uplifting? Surround yourself with people who celebrate and encourage you, and distance yourself from relationships that drain or diminish your spirit.

Mindful Practice:
Finding Presence in Dhikr or Other Spiritual Practices 🌿
In Islam, we have the practice of Dhikr, which helps us centre ourselves and reconnect with the presence of Allah. For those who may not follow the Islamic tradition, it's important to find what connects you to a higher power or purpose — something that renews and fills your soul.

On this , let’s take care of ourselves, uplift those around us, and nurture our mental well-being as a community. Remember, taking the time to reflect is the first step towards lasting peace and well-being. 💫
