EUJS - European Union of Jewish Students

EUJS - European Union of Jewish Students The European Union of Jewish Students is the umbrella organization representing over 160,000 Jewish students across 36 countries in Europe.

EUJS envisions a vibrant, sustainable Jewish communal life in Europe with strong youth and student involvement. EUJS seeks to strengthen Jewish communities and European society through Jewish student activism and advocacy. Therefore, EUJS connects peer-lead, independent Jewish student unions throughout Europe and supports them in fulfilling the aspirations of the Jewish people, developing its reli

gious, spiritual, cultural and social heritage, and ensuring its continuity. How we do this:

We connect Jewish student unions by facilitating exchange, discussion and partnership amongst them at our events and trainings. We assist our members, and encourage the formation of peer-lead, independent student unions wherever there are Jewish students. We empower Jewish students to take on present and future leadership roles – In the community and beyond. We seek to secure the rights, status and interests of Jews and Jewish communities in Europe, and to contribute towards an inclusive Europe. In order to achieve this, we represent our members before international institutions and in various organizations, such as the European Jewish Congress, the European Youth Forum, the United Nations, and many more.

Tisha B’Av is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, a day of mourning, remembrance, and reflection.

As the Three Weeks come to an end, we commemorate the destruction of the First and Second Temples and reflect on the collective losses that have shaped Jewish history. Today, Tisha B’Av also offers a space to acknowledge ongoing challenges, honour resilience, and strengthen our commitment to Jewish life and community.

May this day be one of meaningful reflection and hope.

🇬🇧 London Mission June 2026

Over the past two days EUJS President Hanna Veiler, Vice President Matty Fisher and Executive Director Jonas Markowitz spent time in London meeting with partners in the UK to discuss our shared challenges and potential future collaboration. We of course met with our member union UJS - Union of Jewish Students alongside partners including the The Board of Deputies of British Jews Junction - JDC Europe JDC, The Movement for Progressive Judaism and more. We also were delighted to reunite with Former EUJS President Ben Leon.

We were privileged to also visit the Golders Green memorial paying tribute to those brutally murdered by the Iranian Regime.
