Corona Worldwide

Corona Worldwide The Women's Corona Society, later Corona Worldwide, was founded in 1950. Corona is a registered charity. Corona Worldwide was registered as a charity in 1962.

Corona Worldwide aims to provide support and education for women going overseas, as well as a range of services in the United Kingdom. It is a charity which is run principally by its volunteers. Because it has members and branches throughout the world, it maintains a small Headquarters in London. The office is run on a part time basis and deals with enquiries from both members of the Society and m

embers of the public. The first overseas branch was established in Aden, after which many overseas branches were formed. These enabled women already in the country to give active support to those newly arrived, to ensure that they settled in to their new life with the minimum of disruption. Corona Worldwide is affiliated to the Federation of International Women’s Organisations in London (FIWAL). It also maintains links with the Royal Commonwealth Society, the Royal Overseas League, the Commonwealth Countries League, Commonwealth Affairs, the British Council, the Diplomatic Services Families’ Association, and the Department for International Development. It is a member of the Council of Commonwealth Societies.

Members of CWW are heading to London today for the AGM.

As well as the formality of reviewing the last years activities, the finances and moving into the year ahead, we will also be saying goodbye to our fabulous chairman after 7 years in the job and welcoming four new trustees.

After the meeting there’s a great opportunity for our members from across the country to catch up with each other, share ideas, reminisce and just enjoy each other’s company, whether in person or via zoom.

Thankyou to our Trustees, co-ordinators and members for continuing to fly the flag for Corona.

Wishing all our members, friends and followers a very Happy 2026.

2025 was a year of celebrations around the world for our 75th anniversary, but with the festive season behind us, decorations and lights put away for another year, it’s time to turn our focus to planning another year at CWW. The first Trustees meeting of the year is next week, coordinators meeting in Feb and the AGM in March! It might ‘take a village to raise a child’ but it also takes a great group of hardworking trustees and helpers to run CWW! Let’s get organising and planning!

On Saturday 8th Nov, we were thrilled to be invited to participate in the 697th Lord Mayor’s Show as part of our membership to FIWAL. This year it became the Lady Mayor's Show for the first time in its more than 800-year history, celebrating the inauguration of Dame Susan Langley DBE, Lady Mayor of London.
Emmie and Christine joined the parade of over 7000 participants, 200 horses and more than 50 decorated floats as they wound their way from Mansion House in the City of London, through St Paul's to the Royal Courts of Justice in Westminster, where the Lady Mayor swore loyalty to the Crown. The parade then returned to Mansion House along the Thames Embankment. It was a fun filled occasion, and the route was packed with hundreds of cheering well-wishers.

We also have it on good authority that they were spotted on the TV too! Loving their CWW tabbards!

Happy 75th Anniversary to us!

Today some of the UK members come together to celebrate Corona Worldwide’s 75th anniversary. Members are coming from as far as Scotland and Cornwall to celebrate.

We are very proud of our history and heritage, supporting women worldwide. Over the years we have adapted and changed our services to suit a more modern world and will continue to support our members in the future. We’re looking forward to a lovely lunch and time to catch up with friends old and new and of course reminisce and talk about life experiences overseas.

We know some of our overseas branches have also had or are planning their celebrations. Let’s raise a glass and celebrate all of our lovely members all around the world!
