Asian Women's Resource Centre - London The AWRC is a specialist woman’s organisation providing support for BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic and Refugee), women and children.

The centre was set up in 1980 and provides a free, confidential and professional service to women and children through the provision of advice and information, advocacy, outreach and support services. The AWRC’s key area of work is on issues around violence against women (which includes domestic & sexual abuse, forced marriages, “honour” based violence) and also addresses the interrelated challeng

es associated with abuse such as homelessness & housing, welfare benefits, child contact, immigration etc. The AWRC has over three decades of experience on working on issues of gendered abuse and particularly the affect it has on BAMER women. The AWRC supports survivors of abuse who have been referred to us by the police, Social Services, schools, health professionals, domestic abuse advocacy services, MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference for high risk domestic abuse cases) amongst other organizations for specialist domestic abuse support in a culturally sensitive environment by providing same language support.
