Another extra curricular outing for some of our members to see the Marilyn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery followed by an inspection of Fortnum & Mason’s bee installation.

We have had a wonderful start to our 1st year as an independent and inclusive women's group, and are taking a break over the summer.
We return in September with a guided walk hosted by the wonderful Maria from
Herstorical Tours - Hex in the City https://www.herstoricaltours.co.uk/hexandthecity?. This one is for MEMBERS ONLY so, if you have been thinking of joining us, now is a great time to do it!
We are 3 months into our subscription year, so there is a pro-rata reduction to £40 - this gives you access to 8 meetings and a social get together between now and 31st May 2027. You can see what we are up to through to January here: https://gothicvalley.org.uk/meetings/

We had a member-led group outing to the Fashion and Textile Museum to see the Collier Campbell exhibition, as a follow on from the visit we did to Woman in Print at the William Morris Gallery a couple of months ago. This year marks 150 years of Liberty textiles and Susan Collier and Sarah Campbell have been contributing designs to their collection since the 1970s. They were also key to the design of Habitat fabrics, and you’ll find their designs are familiar to you, even if you don’t know their names.

On 18 March 2026 Gothic Valley voted, by a substantial majority, to close its doors.

We have been proud members of the WI, and the closure happening on our 14th birthday is particularly poignant.

This has been a supportive and welcoming group for ALL women, and the decision made by the National Federation of WIs to no longer include trans women in their membership goes against everything we stand for.

We thank our members, past and present, for the energy, fun and creativity you have brought to the group, and extend our appreciation to all the wonderful people who have entertained, enlightened and educated us with activities and talks.

It has been a blast,
and this is not The End …
