Having children of my own was the catalyst for my interest in researching my family tree. That awesome realization that I now had descendants instilled in me a sense of responsibility to be able to inform them of their lineage beyond my own parents.

This week they were invited to attend Dominican Christmas Carol's Event by at the . The evening was filled was Christmas Carol's, Saltfish
dumplings,Tankards of Sorrel and plenty of
storytelling and poems about Dominica.
They literallt visited their father/grandfather in the nursing home after the event, told him him all
about it. They creole pleasantries, sang
songs and told stories of life in Dominica.

This is what it is all about my desr friends. Knowledge exchanged and embracing the culture!

A significant diplomatic visit from the CARICOM Reparations Commission (CRC) to the United Kingdom occured from the 17th-20th of November. It is known to be one of the first advocacy missions in our time to engage in discussions aimed at advancing reparatory justice initiative with a media briefing and panel discussion taken place at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies in London

The delegation was led by Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Chairman of the CRC, and included key representatives such as Mr. Eric Phillips, Vice Chair of the CRC and head of the Guyana Reparations Committee; Ambassador David Comissiong, CARICOM’s ambassador and Vice Chair of Barbados’ Reparations Task Force; Dr. Niambi Hall Campbell Dean, chair of the Bahamas National Reparations Committee; Arley Gill, head of Grenada’s Reparations Committee; and Dr. Hilary Brown, Programme Manager for Culture and Community Development at the CARICOM Secretariat.
