As parents of children with SEND we are lifelong carers.

We navigate systems in Health, Education and Social Care in both Children and Adult Services.

The Big Conversation on Care has now launched and the Casey Commission wants us to share our views on Adult Social Care. Whether you use care services, care for someone else, work in the sector or have opinions on how care should work in the future. If your son or daughter's placement is funded via continuing care please send your views too!

We are so proud to have been involved in the redevelopment of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground. A huge thank you to all our families who shared their views and expertise to help ensure the playground was truly accessible, even the wonderful Galleon is wheelchair accessible!

Everyone involved in this playground, the Royal Parks Staff team, the Carpenters, Builders, Landscape Gardeners and Architects. should be so proud of what they have created.

We were so honoured to have been invited to a 'quiet' opening session last Sunday for everyone who helped with the redevelopment. We know that all of the children who attended were exhausted at the end of the day....because they played, explored, and tried new things....You cannot beat proper playtime sessions!

We can truly say it's magical and will open to the public tomorrow!

Going forward the Royal Parks want to develop 'Peaceful Playtimes' for children with SEND we will let you all know when this happens.

One of the most famous playgrounds in the world will reopen on Wednesday 5 August 2026 following a £3million investment by The Royal Parks charity.

Parents of children with SEND will be lifelong carers, we know that!

The Government has launched a public consultation regarding Carer's Allowance.

Specifically, it wants to hear how you think it can:
reflect modern patterns of care, work and earnings
support carers to balance paid work and caring responsibilities
ensure the system is clear and easy to understand
maintain fairness and value for money for taxpayers.

This consultation closes at 11.59pm on 18 August 2026, so please share your views and expertise.

Responses to the consultation will help shape future thinking on how the Carer's Allowance can be modernised.

After the consultation has closed, the Government will publish a summary of the responses.

The consultation is being run by the Department for Work and Pensions. It is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy.

This call for evidence is being administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to gather information and views to build on the Department’s existing evidence. What we hear will help shape future thinking about how Carer’s Allowance can be modernised.

Full of Life have worked very hard over the years to ensure people with learning disabilties access health services. This has included helping to develop the Learning Disability Passport with Chelsea Westminster Hospital, as well as offering placements to Nurse Associates and Trainee Nurses at our Day Service.

But still more needs to be done locally and nationally!

Better healthcare and support CAN prevent people with learning disabilities dying too soon.

It is not too late to support the open letter by Learning Disability England calling on the new Prime Minister to make a health strategy for people with learning disabilities and prioritise their health...

We dont need anymore reports, consultations or strategies...we need action!

Sign the letter here:

Thank you for your support and interest in the open letter to the Prime Minister about including people with a learning disability in all health plans. The letter was delivered to Downing Street on the 13th of July with over 1,200 signatories but it is not too late to sign and show your support for....
