Onechild Ghana

Onechild Ghana We're on a mission to educate the world's poorest children. Millions of boys and girls are desperate to get an education. We're doing something about it.

We're run 100% by volunteers
- all money that we raise goes directly towards our projects. We have no salaries to pay and nothing is marked up. A small donation can make a big difference in Ghana

We know where every penny goes
- We're transparent. Everyone who donates to Onechild Ghana can choose how to spend their donation and see the real difference they are making

Onechild Ghana is a no

t for profit, international development organisation set up by Jamie and Darren Belnikoff initially to support one ICCES centre (Baworo) where Jamie spent several months working as a volunteer in 2002. In 2006/7 other former ICCES volunteers (Martin Gaunt, Ben Cummings, Julia Amoo, Robert Palmer and Oliver More) decided to link with Onechild. As a result it was decided to expand the scope of Onechild to cover all 14 ICCES in Ashanti Region. All of the Onechild team maintain regular contact with both students and teachers in Ashanti ICCES in Ghana. Onechild believes only the best educated have a chance to break out of the cycle of poverty and is determined to make quality education available to all in the developing world one child at a time. Onechild's primary objective is to advance the education of the pupils at all ICCES centres in the Ashanti region of Ghana by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for vocational education. Working directly with the local population, Onechild raises money to fulfil its goals:

1. To enable children to go to school
2. To improve the quality of education in developing countries
3. To help students acquire essential skills to develop their own communities
4. To empower local schools enabling them to help themselves

Osu is a former student from Nerebehi.

After graduating in 2021, he went on to establish his own tailoring business - a testament to his hard work, determination and entrepreneurial skills he developed at Nerebehi.

Access to education and the right support played a key role in helping him reach this point.

Stories like Osu’s remind us why this work matters. To help support more young people like him, click the link in our bio and learn how you can get involved!

📚Sustainable education takes more than books and money📚

At OneChild Ghana, we work hand-in-hand with schools to give children not just access to education, but the foundations to build brighter futures.

These students now have the tools they need to design and produce clothing, gaining hands-on skills that equip them for their future.

By selling their creations locally, the school can generate income that’s reinvested back into learning resources and opportunities for more students.

This is more than a quick fix- it is a move towards creating lasting change 🌍
