Our aim is to aid those who have enduring emotional and mental health difficulties or consider themselves to be marginalised. Through relationships of trust and safety, we aim to: help people recover from distress, pain or trauma; find ways in which they are more able to manage their lives; improve

We've just posted details of our next film night on Tuesday 30 June. We are going to be watching 'A Beautiful Mind' in memory of John Nash who died recently. Here's a list of the films we are going to be watching over the next few months: A Dangerous Method; Family Life; Another Year; Happy-Go-Lucky; and A Streetcar Named Desire. Remember, we meet on the last Tuesday of every month. Put the date in your diary and come and join us! We look forward to seeing you there.

Here are two dates for your diaries, both evening events. On Tuesday 6 October it's our AGM and on Tuesday 17 November we shall be celebrating our 21st anniversary as a registered charity. Further details to follow.

Pause, stop, rewind ... play

Our monthly film night is moving venue. Starting this month on Tuesday 26 May and then on the last Tuesday of every month, we shall be meeting at St Mary's Church Hall, Johnson Street, off Cable Street, E1. The nearest DLR stations are Shadwell and Limehouse. There is also Shadwell Overground. The no. 3 bus stops on Butcher's Row for Cable Street and the no. 100 stops on Cable Street. The buses 15 and 135 run along Commercial Road. If you get off anywhere between the Troxy (Stepney Methodist Church stop) or St Mary's and St Michael's you can walk through to Cable Street. There is some on-street parking close to the venue.

The aim of our monthly film night is to raise awareness of mental health and to encourage discussion on the topic, while at the same time giving people the opportunity to find out more about Crossroads and what it is we do. The film nights are free to attend but we would welcome any donations you may like to make towards our work in Tower Hamlets.

Crossroads Counselling has been short-listed to feature in the Nationwide's Community Match Scheme. If you or anyone you know banks with the Nationwide they can vote for Crossroads when they visit any one of Nationwide's branches in the East London area, that's East Ham, Stratford, Bow, Upton Park, Wanstead, Leyton, Walthamstow or South Woodford. Voting is open from the 1 April until the 30 June. Crossroads is one of three charities in the draw - if we get the most votes we will receive £500, so please do remember to vote for us! Thanks.
