O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you? (Jeremiah 4:14)

God reveals how harmful it is for a person to harbour malicious eyes and a malicious tongue. He tells them that this evil stems from the heart and corrupt thoughts, and that it must be washed away by the blood of the Lord Jesus so they may be set free. He further asks how long they will persist in this error, serving evil and remaining indifferent to the voice of God.
