17 killed and 44 injured as a result of Russia's attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region, President Zelenskyy says.

Russia's latest large-scale strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region once again demonstrates the consistent nature of its wartime strategy — the systematic targeting of civilians and critical civilian infrastructure.

According to preliminary reports, 17 people were killed and 44 were injured. The primary targets included civilian warehouse facilities, infrastructure sites, and a railway station.

Such attacks serve not only military objectives but also economic ones. By striking logistics hubs, warehouses, and transport infrastructure, Russia seeks to disrupt economic activity, complicate civilian supply chains, and increase psychological pressure on Ukrainian society.

At the same time, these strikes further illustrate Russia's growing reliance on a strategy of attrition, attempting to compensate for limited battlefield gains by targeting civilian infrastructure. This once again underscores the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities and maintain international pressure on the aggressor state.

In the Spanish city of Ceuta, up to 15,000 homeless Moroccan migrants have flooded the streets and are sleeping in the open.

Many migrants have set up makeshift camps and show no intention of returning home.

On 30 July, a mass border breach occurred in the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, which borders Morocco. According to various sources, between 2,000 and 3,000 migrants entered Ceuta, although the exact number is still being verified. People crossed the border through official checkpoints, by sea, and by breaching border barriers.

As a result of the chaos:

At least nine people were killed (some sources report an even higher death toll);
Clashes erupted along the border;
Migrant reception centers became overcrowded;
A number of businesses in Ceuta temporarily suspended operations.

The events in Ceuta go far beyond a conventional migration crisis. They demonstrate that irregular migration is increasingly becoming not only a humanitarian challenge but also a geopolitical one for the European Union. A mass breach of the border exposes the vulnerability of the Schengen Area's external frontiers, intensifies domestic political debates over migration policy, and creates additional opportunities for populist political forces to capitalize on the issue.

In just nine days, units of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck 116 vessels of various types.

The primary targets were not large tankers but so-called "courier" vessels—small, shallow-draft tankers that transport oil from Russian ports via the Volga–Don Canal and the Sea of Azov to offshore transshipment points in the Black Sea.

Notably, Ukrainian drones are not necessarily intended to sink these vessels. Damaging and disabling them is sufficient to achieve the desired operational effect: they are removed from the logistics chain, disrupt maritime traffic, require extensive repairs or salvage operations, and reduce the overall capacity of Russia's export routes. This approach enables Ukraine to achieve strategic effects with comparatively lower resource expenditure.

Such an approach increasingly integrates military operations with economic pressure, reflecting the modern concept of integrated deterrence and potentially having a significant impact on Russia's ability to sustain a prolonged high-intensity war.
