Who Is Hussain London was out this morning cleaning up alongside Friends of the Grand Union Canal — caring for our shared environment and putting the values of compassion, service and social responsibility into action.

It was great to work alongside people from different backgrounds who share the same commitment to making our community a better place.

At this week's food drive, we were joined by Hamoodi, who generously volunteered his time and skills to give free haircuts to our guests experiencing homelessness.

A fresh haircut might seem like a small thing, but it can bring confidence, dignity and that simple feeling of being cared for.

Our food drives aren't only about providing food — they're about creating a space where people feel welcomed, valued and treated with dignity.

A huge thank you to Hamoodi for giving his time and making the day that little bit more special.

‘Who is Hussain, London’ would like to invite you to our upcoming event on Tuesday 25th August, 18:00-20:00. This event is open to everyone; whether you have volunteered at our food drives before, interested in getting into the work or would just like to gain knowledge in this field. We would love to see as many of you there as possible!

The event will be in-person. However, if you are unable to attend there is an option to join online.

🧹 Arbaeen Clean-Up Squad in action!

Today, our volunteers joined the Arbaeen Procession at Marble Arch to help keep the streets of London clean throughout the event.

Arbaeen is one of the world's largest annual gatherings, bringing millions of people together globally to remember Hussain ibn Ali and the values he stood for — justice, dignity and standing up for others.

With thousands gathering in central London, our Clean-Up Squad worked throughout the procession to collect litter and help leave the area clean for the wider community.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy today.

Being part of a community event also means taking responsibility for the spaces we share. We're proud to have played our part.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — ARBAEEN CLEAN UP SQUAD

Arbaeen marks the 40th day since the martyrdom of Hussain ibn Ali, who stood against injustice and sacrificed his life in the pursuit of truth and dignity.

Each year, millions around the world remember his legacy through acts of remembrance, compassion and service to others.

This Arbaeen, join Who Is Hussain London as we help keep the streets of London clean during the Arbaeen Commemoration at Marble Arch, serving our city and wider community in the name of Hussain.

⏰ Two shifts available: 12pm–3pm or 3pm–7pm
