This charity was born from her strength, her story, and her heart.

Aisatu started this charity with her mum 7 years ago, aiming to make a difference for sickle cell warriors in Africa. Her goal for this charity was to both raise awareness for sickle cell and to one day help all the countires in Africa create a better health care system. Her advocacy inspired us all, and her kindness touched every life she encountered.

We appreciate all your support whilst we as a charity are take a pause to grieve this loss.

We will remember her as the incredible person she was, spreading love in her memory. Let’s honor her legacy by continuing the fight against sickle cell and donating blood to make a difference. Any donations you give to us as a charity will also go towards continuing her legacy.

We are looking to film the second episode of “sickle cell beyond the crisis”, if you or anyone you know should be interested please dm us or .

We want to look into the thoughts feelings and opinions of people who have friends with sickle cell. We will be asking questions like:

- when did they find out their friend had sickle cell,
-what did they about sickle cell prior to their friendship and what do they know now
-Has sickle cell impacted their friendship

There are no right or wrong answers! Just looking for people to share their experiences and they have the freedom to share as much or as little as they are comfortable with.

Looking to film on Sunday 18th September between 12pm-4pm in Hackney

Thank you!

TIME CHANGE:

As part of sickle cell awareness month, we will be going live with some of the individuals we are supporting!

First up, on Sunday the 4th of September at 2pm, we have Maimunah Sherif. We will be talking to talk about her story; How she is managing living with sickle cell in Liberia, her struggles, what it was like loosing her brother to sickle cell, her plans for the future and how we can help her.

Make sure to join us as we go live this weekend to learn more about this very special girl! ❤️

It is with our deepest regret to announce that one of our members Abu A Sherif has sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 26 due complications of a sickle cell crisis. Our charity has lost such an amazing soul and is currently finding it very hard to deal with. We are doing everything we can to support the family during this difficult time. Abu was a poet and wrote at lot about his pain, his goal was to change the way sickle cell was seen in Liberia. He was in the process of releasing his book, we will try our absolute best to get the book released on his behalf. Abu was such a kind soul. It truly breaks our heart to know that he is no longer with us. Africa Sickle Aid will be taking donations on behalf of the family, ALL donations in the next 7 days will be going directly to Abu’s Family. If you would like to donate please use our GoFundMe link in our bio! We appreciate all your support. Sending out prayers to his family 💔💔

His sister is currently in hospital and we are trying to help her move to a better hospital in Liberia. We are doing what we can but we could really use your support. Please share this post and we would be extremely grateful for any donations, no matter how! Thank you❤️
