1: To advance the education and awareness around children living in extreme adversity, orphaned, affected by HIV/AIDS, abandoned, abused, trafficked or living in parentless households through education and campaigns.

2. To advance the understanding by governments as to the needs of children in the above mentioned circumstances.

3. Relief for orphaned and vulnerable children living in extreme adversity, and the preservation of health among people infected with HIV/AIDS residing in India and South Africa by promoting anti-retro viral treatment and the surrounding social and medical care needed to support healthy and safe lives providing safe loving homes, education, nutrition hope and respect. Mission Statement

AATC works to provide a loving home, education, nutrition HIV treatment, protection and self respect for children who have lost their parents to AIDS or who are at risk of contracting HIV. AATC provide a sense of community, safety, and understanding for children who are vulnerable, living in parentless households, abused, stigmatised or abandoned. We believe in a global future where all children in adversity have their lives transformed into a bright future. AATC believes in a future for these kids and intend to do everything we can to make it a happy one - with your help.

Today is International Day of the Girl Child! 🩷 Also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl, it is an international observance day declared by the United Nations.

♀️ The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide. Girls around the world still face inequality in most facets of life, such as access to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination, violence against women and forced child marriage.

At Arms Around The Child, we support projects which seek to empower women and girls through education, financial independence, employment opportunities and more.

Every girl deserves a childhood. Every girl deserves the freedom to define her own future. The incredible organisations we work with will not tire until this is the case.

Today is World Mental Health Day! 🧡🧠
Mental Health Day takes place annually on October 10, first set by the World Federation for Mental Health.
World Mental Health Day seeks to raise global awareness, fight social stigma, and improve mental health support. This years theme is “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”.

At Arms Around The Child, we work with multiple partners who champion mental health generally, as well as providing specialist assistance to those with lived experience and campaigning for change.
Be it through hospital treatment; tackling stigma in schools; counselling, therapy and victim support; or general mental health maintenance for those living through adversity - mental health is a huge part of what we do.

💬We always love to hear the stories from the children who have passed through our partner projects.

🇮🇳 Shiva, for example, lived for many years at Faith Sansthan in Jaipur. Shiva discovered a passion for health and wellbeing during his education. After leaving Faith he trained as a yoga therapist and now helps others improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

🧡His journey reflects Faith’s belief that every child should be encouraged to pursue their individual talents.

🍎🧑‍🏫 A very Happy Teachers Day! World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate all teachers around the globe.

📝📚It is a day to celebrate how teachers transform the young minds of today and education as a whole, but also to reflect on the support they need globally to fully succeed for the generations they teach.

🧡We are so lucky to work with such an inspiring team of teachers across our projects - whether working in the Christian Atsu School, training up our Vocational Impact volunteers, or generally being a guiding light to the children we provide for.

🇬🇭 Fund A Mom Ghana is delivered in Senya Beraku and supports vulnerable mothers who are struggling to provide for their children due to severe financial hardship.

The programme provides a monthly stipend to help mothers establish small income generating activities while meeting essential household needs including food, healthcare and education for their children. The programme focuses primarily on widowed or single mothers with little or no stable income and those responsible for multiple children or extended family members.

The Fund A Mom programme continues to strengthen household stability for participating families. Mothers have been able to establish small businesses, increase income security and maintain school attendance for their children. The programme also builds confidence and independence among participants helping them move towards greater financial stability. 💚🧡

🇬🇭 In Ghana, there was an absence of non-custodial law. This means all petty offences are criminalised with fines or prison sentences. Unfortunately, those living under the poverty line may commit a petty offence out of desperation - then they are served with a fine they can’t pay, and go to prison, or skip the fine and go straight to prison. This creates a whole number of problems in the prison system in terms of overcrowding, poor conditions, exposing petty offenders to more serious criminals, costs the government more money - and effectively criminalising poverty.

💙 We partner with Crime Check Foundation - who fight for those who are neglected by the system. They provide justice for those who lack the means to fight for themselves.

After tireless campaigning, Ghana's parliament recently passed the Community Service Bill, 2026: a piece of legislation designed to introduce community service as an alternative to custodial sentences for minor offenses. The bill also seeks to ease pressure on the country's overcrowded prisons and reshape how justice is administered for minor crimes. This enormous win means that Ghanaians of all socioeconomic backgrounds will have access to more appropriate sentencing, and Crime Check Foundation continues to campaign for the future they wish to see.

Since 2016 Arms Around The Child have proudly run the World Music Village, part of the award winning large scale commercial music festival Victorious.

At Arms Around The Child, we exist to protect and support children who have experienced poverty, abandonment, HIV, abuse and neglect. Our work is grounded in one simple belief: every child deserves safety, stability and the opportunity to shape their own future. We work in long term partnership with local organisations and communities to provide care that is consistent, dignified and built to last.

The World Music Village transports festivalgoers to every corner of the globe with a myriad of genres from Jazz, Folk, British Bhangra, Worldbeat, and Electronic music, Balkan, Klezmer, and Middle Eastern “manywhere”, pop, alternative rock, alternative, indie, trip-hop, R&B, reggae, dub, and steppas, roots.

The area showcases diverse talent from around the globe on two stages, as well as raising money for Arms Around The Child. 🧡
