*SHAMSHERNAGAR WELFARE TRUST UK - Completion of Ramadan Appeal 2026*

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, Shamshernagar Welfare Trust UK has completed the distribution of their Ramadan Appeal for 2026.

We would like to extend our *heartfelt gratitude to all our donors* for their kind and generous contributions towards this year’s Ramadan Appeal. May Allah (SWT) accept your donations and reward you abundantly. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to inform you that a total of *£1,900 (equivalent to ৳3,22,000 Bangladeshi Taka)* was raised. This amount has now been *fully distributed across all wards of Shamshernagar Union*, according to the voting population of each ward.

Each selected individual received *BDT ৳1,000* , equating to *322 individuals supported,* and the assistance was carefully distributed to those most in need — including the *disabled, homeless, destitute, widows, and individuals with no source of income* . Alhamdulillah, the distribution process in Shamshernagar has now been *successfully completed*.

We would like to reiterate that as a Trust, we do not carry out such efforts for publicity. We strongly believe that acts of *Zakat and Sadaqah* should be carried out with sincerity and humility, seeking only the pleasure of Allah (SWT), rather than recognition.

As Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Qur’an:
“ _And they give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, saying: ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.’”_
— *Surah Al-Insan (76:8–9)*

And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“ _A person who gives charity and conceals it so that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent…”_ (Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

May Allah (SWT) accept all our efforts, forgive our shortcomings, and continue to enable us to serve those in need.

Assalamu Alaykum,

**Shamshernagar Welfare Trust UK** held its annual **Iftar and Duah Mahfil on Sunday, 1 March 2026**. The event was well attended, with almost 40 members joining the iftar, marking a really good turnout. While some members were unable to attend due to other engagements or illness, the Trust hopes they will be able to join future events.

A few attendees had to leave immediately after the iftar and duah mahfil and therefore may not appear in the photographs; nevertheless, the Trust sincerely thanks them for taking the time to attend and be part of the gathering.

The **Iftar and Duah Mahfil** was led by the **President, MD. Abdur Rahim**, and the **General Secretary, AKM Jillul Haque**. Duahs and prayers were offered for loved ones who have passed away, as well as for the Muslim Ummah across the world.

**Riziq Dine In & Takeaway** were perfect hosts, and the Trust extends its heartfelt thanks to them for the delicious food and warm hospitality, which greatly contributed to the success of the evening.

The event was formally closed by the President, MD. Abdur Rahim, who thanked everyone for attending and reminded members about the ongoing **Annual Ramadan Appeal**, encouraging all to come forward and donate towards this worthy cause.

**Shamshernagar Welfare Trust UK** looks forward to holding further events in the future where everyone can come together, strengthen bonds, and continue to share and nurture the spirit of community.

On March 18, 2025, Shamshernagar Welfare Trust UK organised a memorable iftar party at the prestigious Royal Bengal Restaurant in Whitechapel, East London.

This event brought together over 60 esteemed members, some traveling considerable distances to attend. The atmosphere was charged with camaraderie and goodwill as guests were treated to a sumptuous iftar meal, meticulously prepared to delight the senses.

The evening commenced with heartfelt duah mahfil for all, and in honour of those who have passed away, fostering a sense of unity and reflection among all present.

Key figures such as the President, Md Abdur Rahim, accompanied by the General Secretary, AKM Jillul Haque, and esteemed senior members, took the stage to share inspiring stories of the Trust's impactful initiatives. They highlighted the transformative work accomplished thus far and outlined plans for the future, emphasising a commitment to welfare and solidarity.

The event was attended by Mr KM Abu Taher Choudhury, a distinguished community figure and renowned journalist, who graced the occasion as a special guest.

*ANNOUNCEMENT: SN Tubewell Project 2024*

Assalamu Alaykum to All.

Alllhamdulillah, we are pleased to announce that the *previous committee of the Trust* has successfully completed the *installation of 16 tubewells across the Shamshernagar Union*.

This major, monumental, and symbolic project was made possible by the generous contributions of our monthly, bi-annual, and annual members, whose support allowed us to spend a total of *£1,500 (৳2,41,690* two laks, forty-one thousand, six hundred and ninety Taka).

The 16 tube-wells have been installed at the following locations:

1. Gazi Salauddin Islamic Academy
2. Borcheg
3. Eidgah Tilla
4. Eleven Star club Maat
5. Krishnopur Keji school
6. Shonkorpur
7. Airport Road, Shamshernagar
8. Moulvibazar CNG stand, Shamshernagar
9. Shamshernagar Tea Garden
10. Shamshernagar Tea Garden
11. Kesuluty
12. Chatlapur Rd, Shamshernagar
13. Morajanorpar
14. Front of Jonomilon Kendro
15. Front of Ruab Ullah school, Bahdairdewl
16. Hafiziya Madrasha, Bahdairdewl

A 17th tubewell is also underway, soon to be completed, marking another step in our efforts to provide essential access to clean water in communities that need it most. Whether for the benefit of the poor and needy, students, or areas where water resources are scarce, these tubewells serve a critical purpose.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and well-wishers for their invaluable support in this endeavor. It is only through your kindness and generosity that we can make a difference in the lives of so many.
