My school senior’s poem poignantly captures the agony and despair caused by the flood in our locality (country of origin). It serves as a powerful reminder of the immense challenges faced by those whose lives are deeply intertwined with the forces of nature. May his words inspire us all to extend a helping hand to those in need during these difficult times. May Allah grant us the strength and compassion to offer our support to those suffering.
Please share your thoughts and ideas on the most effective ways to address this situation in the comments.
His Poem (Agriculturist Md Alamgir Hossain):
Poetic Translation (Mohammad Mohammad Kamrul Hashan):
My birthplace is now water-bound,
Worries crease my brow profound.
Thoughts run wild with restless fear,
How do I bring relief near?
The flood has shattered every dream,
Swept away hopes in its ruthless stream.
Flood, you are a cruel storm,
Drowning lives, wreaking harm.
Flood, you are merciless indeed,
Tears fall like rain in need.
When will you end this suffering plight?
No answer, no hope in sight.
Water crashes on village, town, and field,
People and animals, their fate sealed.
Struggling to survive each day,
In danger’s grip, they stay.
Creatures float, roads submerged,
Snakes and fish in silence surge.
Fields once green, now desolate and bare,
Silent witnesses to despair.
The poor seek shelter in vain,
Where will they escape the pain?
In search of food and clothes they roam,
Hungry bellies with no home.
After the flood, diseases will spread,
Among the people, fear and dread.
Merciful Creator, please protect,
Though we face hardship and neglect.
