Our core objectives are the protection and promotion of the good health of women, in particular women who are HIV-positive or who are at risk of sexually transmitted diseases including HIV by:

- promoting prevention and treatment for women living with HIV, both in the UK and internationally
- increasing awareness and understanding of women's sexual health, HIV and Aids amongst health care and oth

er professionals, service providers and the public. In all our work, we endeavour to uphold the principle of GIPA - ie the meaningful involvement of women living with HIV in all that we do.

Your Guide is a new resorce from Chiva helping families living with HIV know what care and support they should expect from their healthcare team.

It's an easy-read version of the Standards of Care for healthcare professionals which was launched earlier this year. The Standards set out the range of care needed by: mothers/birthing parents with HIV; infants, children and young people living with HIV and young adults up to age 25.

With these two documents to hand, families living with HIV can expect optimum care wherever they live in the UK.
