Right now, in some parts of the UK, your postcode could cost you up to 18 years of life.

We are supporting the Equals campaign in calling for a change in the law to tackle health inequalities.

Dr Louise Buchanan, BCS Vice-President for Education, adds: “This is an incredibly timely campaign, and one we are glad to support, together with many other organisations. It is important to raise awareness of the huge impact that inequality has on access to healthcare and health outcomes of the patients we see day to day in our practice. There is undoubtedly still work to do, but with the campaign, we can shine a spotlight on this issue from all possible angles.”
