rt. Our aim is to support local charities and community projects, which provide services that, benefit not just the Muslim community but the community as a whole. BCBN launches its Grant Initiative, which aims to provide small grant awards to empower charities and local community projects for the betterment of our society. The BCBN Grant Initiative is an inspired project designed to help support and develop valuable community projects by providing a small amount of capital. The Grant Initiative will award monthly grants to a variety of different projects. Strict vetting procedures and criteria apply, applications have already been received. BCBN attracts individuals from the entire spectrum of the Muslim population in Britain. BCBN's supported causes have been Mosaic - Business in the Community and the Muslim Youth Helpline. More recently, BCBN held a charity event at the Great Room, JW Marriott with guest speaker, Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon Nick Clegg in support of the Date Palm Project (Brent) and the BCBN Grant Initiative. A £3,000 BCBN grant helped Rammy Men expand its NEET Woodwork Project, transforming a small workshop into a life-changing space for people not in employment, education, or training. The funding upgraded equipment, improved accessibility, and created a welcoming environment for people facing complex challenges.

Since the grant, 176 participants have joined hands-on sessions, gaining practical skills, increased confidence, and stronger community connections. Over 758 training hours have been delivered, and more than half of attendees came from deprived areas in Greater Manchester.

This grant has catalysed growth: attendance has more than doubled, local partnerships have strengthened, and Rammy Men has expanded services and employment pathways across the region.

The event brought together 77 families and over 300 attendees for a joyful day of connection, shared experiences, and moments that reminded families they are not alone. For many, it was the first time meeting others who truly understood their journey.

Announcing BCBN’s New Flagship Programme: Resilient Minds
This , we're proud to launch Resilient Minds — a bold new school-based programme supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young Muslims in Luton.

Delivered through the Muslim Mind Collaborative (founded by BCBN), this initiative tackles trauma, stigma, and identity-based challenges by embedding faith-sensitive support directly into schools.

For over a decade, BCBN has invested in initiatives that uplift and protect young people—from tackling youth violence to improving access to faith and culture sensitive care. We incubate projects and programmes that address the most pressing social challenges facing Muslim communities across the UK.

Through strategic partnerships like our collaboration with Mind, we’re working to ensure mental health support is more inclusive, representative, and rooted in the lived experiences of Muslim communities.

Our Story

Established in 2011, the Better Community Business Network (BCBN) is a Muslim-led charity set up to identify difficult social causes and worthwhile community projects within the UK. We provide grants and support the work of grassroot, community organisations and charities working within deprived communities.

Programme areas range from education and poverty to social cohesion, health and wellbeing. All our supported causes and charity partners undergo a comprehensive due diligence and vetting process.

BCBN has raised in excess of £1.3 million and has been described by many as a “safe pair of hands” acting as a conduit for businesses to engage fully with their corporate social responsibility. BCBN avoids duplication and carefully selects charitable partners who already have an in-depth understanding, specialism and infrastructure in the field to deliver the specific projects selected.

We commission research for a more targeted and effective, evidence-based approach to the projects we support long term. BCBN works with academic institutions, researchers, think tanks and government departments, seeking to overcome barriers in furtherance of a more just and equal society.
