Our little old man, Rico. Please send good wishes and treats his way. 🫶

Like most of the cats that come to us we’re not quite sure of his background but at some point he started living on the streets. He is 13.5 years old and that’s not an age for a cat to be homeless. Some kind neighbours provided him with a shelter and regular food and contacted us. Due to having their own rescue cat (that doesn’t like other cats!) they couldn’t offer him a home but he was crying incessantly to be let into the house. 😢 With the colder weather coming we were finally able to offer him a space in a foster home.

He’s had his first vet checks and blood tests. He had some crystals in his urine that needed treatment and he must have been very sore from the infection because he had groomed his tummy almost bald.

He seems to be otherwise in good health, we’ll be keeping an eye on him while he settles in and providing updates. We know he’s very sweet, easygoing and a big purrer! Bless him, he’s very grateful that he has a nice warm foster home now!

Thank you to the kind people who were looking out for him. Be kind to the strays.

Meet happy boy Misha and his best mate Todd 🐈

It’s not often you put two unrelated boys together and they hit it off but very good boy Todd (ginger & white) decided to take little Misha under his wing after his family decided to adopt him.

Misha was born in our care over the summer to a stray mum who came in heavily pregnant and needing lots of tlc.
After foster care he went to live with older boy Todd and his family and started following him everywhere, and Todd appears to enjoy the company of his new little bro. They’ve also perfected the synchronised staring at their fam in order to achieve more treats.

Misha has become very sociable and clingy, and sleeps cuddling up to owner Charlotte every night, or on her lap when she works from home and Todd is happy to share his space!

We’re so happy for Misha and his new people and thank you to Todd for being a very kind big brother.

September is and we wanted to share some of the cats that are now very happy after being rescued and rehomed!!

First up is Jerry and Cub the kitten.

Older boy Jerry was a very sad cat when he came to us as a beaten up stray. He was struggling with extremely sore eyes, and needed surgery on both, plus skin problems and a urinary tract infection. Sadly, one eye couldn’t be saved but the remaining one was and he found himself (with a little bit of help from us) the loveliest home with a family who adore him and his glow up has been incredible. He is such a happy boy now 💙

Cub the kitten was another very sad stray picked up by one of our inspectors all on his own. He also had sore eyes and needed a lot of TLC in his foster home. He’s such a contented happy boy now who loves a fuss and is treasured in his forever home!

The most stunning pair of green eyes (X 2) are looking for a home 👀

Halle (2yrs old) & her son Panda (4-5 months)

These two utterly stunning cats have a very special bond and are looking for a lucky home together. We won’t separate them!

Halle was rescued after being found giving birth to her kittens on a building site. 💔 she raised her litter happily in foster care and while her other kittens have now been adopted, Panda remains very close to his mum. He wasn’t happy when they were briefly separated, so we reunited them and they were soooo happy to be together again. They love to play and to groom each other, which is a joy to watch.

Panda is a playful, curious boy who loves company. He’ll meow to find out where everyone is, then come looking for cuddles. Halle is more chilled out but still young herself and they would both like a little garden to explore - together!!

The UK Government has issued a temporary ban on the sale of disposable barbecues due to the current heatwaves and ongoing wildfires.

This is a very welcome move, as wildfires can have a devastating impact for everyone, including wildlife.

Other things you can do to help include:
- Avoid lighting other fires - or anything that could create sparks
- Consider picnics instead of barbecues
- Don't set off sky lanterns (this applies all year round, as animals can also get trapped in, or ingest them)
- Take litter with you - don’t leave items such as glass or other materials that can cause a fire
- Fully extinguish ci******es and dispose of them responsibly and away from dry areas
- If you see a fire, move away from the area and report it immediately to the emergency services - never put yourself at risk by attempting to tackle one.

Wildlife need our help more than ever in this heat, and small acts of kindness make a big difference. Please look out for animals and leave out food and water where possible, particularly for those who may have become displaced due to wildfires.

UPDATE - Dusk is now reserved for her lovely forever home 😻

Dusk 🐈‍⬛

On the lookout for more tummy rubs or maybe another bed for her to refuse to leave. This is the best little black cat possibly ever. Friendly, funny, affectionate and sociable. She adores people and is happiest curled up beside you or even cuddling up with you in (your) bed. Speaking of beds, she has her own, and it’s a non-negotiable part of her life.

This girl was found left in a carrier, we think as a stray, and taken to one of our hospitals before coming into foster care with us. Several times a day she gets the zoomies, races through her cat tunnel and dashes around before happily settling down for a well earned nap in one of her beds. Again.

Dusk is only 2 and is looking for a forever home she can move her little bed into. Given that she’s perfect it shouldn’t be hard to find! 😊

The heartbreaking answer is yes... 💔

Giving pets as prizes, especially goldfish at funfairs, is still happening across England and Wales, causing severe and unnecessary suffering to many innocent animals.

Please admire the perfect feline features of Beautiful Bagel, a very sad little cat when she first came to us who has settled in perfectly to her new life in her forever home 🫶

This girl was in foster with us for a long time (over a year!) and she had several press releases and a special RSPCA appeal. Bagel came into our care after living in a very stressful and noisy environment, and it soon became clear she was traumatised and terrified and was going to need a lot of support. With time, love and patience from her foster carer, along with veterinary and behavioural guidance, she slowly learned to relax and feel safe and even allow her fur to be brushed (a big step for Bagel!)
Her foster carers did a fantastic job with her and we’re very grateful to them.

Bagel was adopted by a wonderful lady with a quiet house and garden and after 3 months together they’ve formed a lovely bond. We’re so happy for you Bagel! Thank you to our supporters too. Without you we wouldn’t be able to help cats like Bagel. 🧡
