July is not just a month—it is a testament to courage, sacrifice, and the unwavering spirit of the people of Bangladesh.

In July 2024, countless students and ordinary citizens took to the streets, facing bullets and risking everything for the dream of a just, democratic, and accountable Bangladesh. Many never returned home. Their sacrifice was not for power or politics—it was for a nation where justice would prevail, corruption would end, and every citizen could live with dignity.

Two years on, we continue to witness many challenges: crime, corruption, bribery, violence against women, and injustice remain painful realities. The journey toward the Bangladesh they envisioned is far from complete.

Yet revolutions are remembered not only for the day they happen, but for what a nation chooses to build afterwards. The responsibility to honour the martyrs does not end with remembrance—it begins with our commitment to uphold the values they gave their lives for.

Today, we remember the July Martyrs with gratitude and respect. May their sacrifice continue to inspire us to build a Bangladesh founded on justice, integrity, unity, and hope.

Their sacrifice became the voice of a nation. Our responsibility is to ensure that voice is never forgotten.

We remember. We honour. We continue.

Over the past two years, we have brought together students from universities across the UK, supported their academic and professional journeys, celebrated our rich cultural heritage, and created opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and personal growth.

This milestone is not just a celebration of our organisation—it is a celebration of every volunteer, university society, partner, supporter, and student who has believed in our mission and stood beside us. Your dedication has been the driving force behind everything we have achieved.

On Last weekend, we had the privilege of hosting and standing alongside international comrades at the International Conference Against War in Central Hall Westminster, organised by the Stop the War Coalition and supported by numerous organisations, trade unions, and community groups, including BSA UK.

The gathering brought together activists, students, trade unionists, and campaigners from across the world, united by a common message: No to war, no to genocide, and no to forced conscription.

At a time when conflicts continue to devastate communities and displace millions, this conference demonstrated the power of international solidarity and collective action. It was inspiring to witness people from diverse backgrounds coming together to advocate for peace, justice, human rights, and a more compassionate world.

As BSA UK, we remain committed to amplifying the voices of young people, promoting global solidarity, and supporting movements that strive for peace and dignity for all.

Together, we stand for peace. Together, we stand against war.

On the Proposed 82-Foot Ram Statue at the Temple Complex in Gaibandha, Rangpur

The Bangladeshi Students Association UK (BSA UK) unequivocally condemns the planned construction of an 82-foot statue of Lord Ram at the temple complex in Gaibandha, Rangpur, and expresses its grave concern over the political motivations and regional implications that underpin this project.

The Bangladeshi Students Association UK sincerely appreciates Oxford Bangla Society for inviting Mr Hasnat Abdullah and Mr. Sadik Kayem to engage with the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United Kingdom.

This gathering reflects the enduring significance of the July Revolution of 2024 and stands as a testament to the spirit of resistance against oppression and fascism in all its forms. As history reminds us, vigilance must remain constant; even when the threat emerges from among today's comrades.

Our allegiance is not to individuals but to democracy, justice, and freedom.
