[Inside 4482: Meet the Team]
💫Jennie Hyeryoung Jun, Curator

Inside 4482: Meet the Team is a series where we share the people behind 4482 through short interviews — how they joined, what they’re working on, and what brought them here.

Meet Jennie Hyeryoung Jun, Curator of 4482. With a background in sculpture and cultural management, Hyeryoung brings her passion for artist-led spaces directly to our community, while currently working on international touring exhibition productions at the Barbican Centre.

Her most memorable project? K-Art Now 2025: The First Movement at DR Gallery. It was a thrilling moment where she brought performance and installation artists together, blurring the lines between process and physical presence.

What does 4482 mean to her? Her ’London family.‘ To Hyeryoung, 4482 is a space of limitless possibilities—a tight-knit creative circle that keeps her constantly inspired and grounded.

Negotiating Uncertainty: The Material Language of Viviana Hayeong Jeon

London-based Korean artist Viviana Hayeong Jeon uses ceramics to create captivating abstract sculptures. In our latest interview, she opens up about her artistic world—where she explores the “uncertainty” of life by turning invisible emotions into tactile, physical forms.

Having successfully expanded her creative footprint from Seoul to London, Viviana is now set to reach even further with an upcoming residency in the USA. Her journey reflects a continuous growth, transforming fragile internal feelings into bold, abstract sculptures that resonate across borders.

🎨 May 2026: 4 Must-See Art News Highlights

As the days get longer and the sun begins to shine brighter, the city’s art scene is bursting with energy. Here are 4 must-see art highlights for May 2026 that you won’t want to miss! ✨

1️⃣ Secret Ceramics | Sotheby’s New Bond Street (11 – 17 May)
”Artistry Beyond the Name“
As a highlight of London Craft Week, Sotheby’s presents Secret Ceramics—an anonymous sale of 100 works from established and emerging artists, each sold at a fixed price of £650. Each artist‘s identity remains a secret until purchase, allowing collectors to focus purely on craftsmanship. All proceeds support FiredUp4, providing ceramics access to disadvantaged youth.

2️⃣ Photo London 2026 | Olympia London (14 – 17 May)
”A New Chapter at Olympia“
Photo London celebrates its eleventh edition with a landmark move to the historic Olympia in Kensington. Staged beneath the grand Victorian canopy of the National Hall, the fair explores photography from rare vintage masterpieces to cutting-edge AI-driven works. It remains the ultimate hub to witness the past, present, and future of the medium.

3️⃣ London Original Print Fair | Somerset House (14 – 17 May)
”Six Centuries of Masterpieces“
London’s longest-running art fair returns to the East, West, and South Wings of Somerset House. Spanning six centuries of art history, LOPF offers a rare chance to collect works from old masters like Rembrandt to contemporary icons like David Hockney and Bridget Riley. With exclusive print launches and live demonstrations, it’s a quintessential event for every level of collector.

4️⃣ Delcy Morelos: Origo | Barbican Sculpture Court (15 May – 31 July)
”Ancestral Soil Meets Brutalism“
Colombian artist Delcy Morelos unveils her first major UK site-specific commission at the Barbican’s iconic Sculpture Court. Using soil, clay, and fragrant spices like cinnamon, Origo creates an immersive environment exploring our sensory relationship to the earth. This evocative installation offers a profound natural contrast to the surrounding brutalist architecture.

Catherine Opie: To Be Seen

📍 National Portrait Gallery
📆 5 March - 31 May 2026

Catherine Opie’s photography exhibition ‘To Be Seen’ is currently on at the National Portrait Gallery.

The content is quite striking and politically charged in a way that is so… human.
Out of the many series’s explorations of gender, masculinity and representation of her q***r community, perhaps because of 4482’s 2026 project Gachi: Surroundings and Companions being on the brink of opening, Opie’s portraits of Surfers (2003) and High School Football (2007-9) resonated as they consider the intersection of individual and collective identities.
“Malibu surfers are portrayed having just emerged, zen-like, from the ocean. They are subsumed into the landscape with echoes of Romanticism. Still and ethereal, Opie‘s seascape invites us to meditate on the democratisation of humanity through experience with our surroundings.
The impression of youthful bravado and fragility of Opie’s armoured post-practice footballers becomes a thin disguise of individual vulnerabilities and questions presumptions of masculinity. Photographed on the cusp of adulthood, Opie‘s portraits become poignant reminders of the uncertainty and hope of young lives.”

Opie’s photography in ‘To Be Seen’ speak of the power of visibility. Her work is conceptually rigorous and technically precise, and therefore able to capture and present photographs that make us question the ‘why’ of representation.

🎨 Featured in Gachi — Soon Yul Kang ( )

Soon Yul Kang is a London-based artist whose practice moves across calligraphy, collage, and hand-woven tapestry. Having studied fibre arts in South Korea and Japan before completing her MA at Goldsmiths, her work is deeply rooted in ideas of meditation, healing, and the passage of time.

Drawing from Korean heritage and Zen philosophy, she creates works that are quiet, minimal, and contemplative — inviting moments of stillness within everyday life. Her practice has been widely recognised, with exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and recent presentations internationally.

In this exhibition, she presents works from her 엄마 [eomma]: mum series alongside Prayer 3, reflecting on care, memory, and the quiet presence of devotion.

All works on display are available for purchase. Please DM us for pricing and further details.

🎨 Featured in Gachi — Chaeeun Kim

Chaeeun Kim is a South Korean ceramic artist and designer based in the UK. She completed her MA in Design at Central Saint Martins (2024), where she developed her practice through material experimentation.

Working with clay, she explores its physical possibilities through casting, often combining ceramic and textile languages. Rather than hiding them, she treats mould lines as visual traces — revealing the structure and process behind each piece.

In this exhibition, Chaeeun presents four series: Hanteul, Sodam, Hanco, and Memory. Through these series, she explores how form and material carry layered meanings within everyday objects.

To hear more about her artistic journey, join us at the artist talk next Tuesday.

All works on display are available for purchase. Please DM us for pricing and further details.

🎨 Featured in Gachi — Amber Jeong

Amber Jeong is a South Korean artist based in the UK, whose practice centres on drawing as a way of processing unspoken emotions. Shaped by her experience of living abroad and raising three children, her work reflects on identity, belonging, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life.

In this exhibition, Amber presents works from her Flower Series and Quiet Companion Series. Through flowers and cats, she captures small moments of comfort — where each subject remains unique, yet exists in quiet harmony with others.

Her works gently remind us that individuality and togetherness can coexist, echoing the shared value at the heart of Gachi.

All works on display are available for purchase. Please DM us for pricing and further details.
