Photos from our community feast in Tooting, Wandsworth - β™₯️

The young people, Story Catchers, were incredible on this project.

Thank you to Laura for co-designing the concept of this project: creating a feast and menu booklet inspired by food memories recorded from our communities πŸ™πŸΎ

Tania loved delivering training, finding interviewees, writing content for the menu booklet and archiving all the interviews we did at Wandsworth archives, Battersea Library ❀️

Defo one of our highlights so far for 2026 πŸ†β€ΌοΈπŸ’―πŸ«‘

Well done, On the Record and its partners, , and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

πŸŽ™Oral History training sessions delivered to young people aged 18 to 25. They are known as Story Catchers!

β˜€οΈ Workshop 2 focused on what is oral history: what makes it a guided practice and discipline + looking at its connections to oral traditions, its benefits and limitations.

✍️ Creativity, group discussions, reflections and key learning were at the core of workshop 2.

❀️ Young people thought about introducing their heritage project to elders and began thinking about their questions to carry out their interviews.

Great work to everyone involved & thank you to our partners and funders , & πŸ™πŸΎ

Our Memories Kitchen Collective Spoken Word created by young people!

On the Record's Tania Aubeelack - .aubee - is working with a group of young people known as Story Catchers on a heritage and oral history project entitled Memories Kitchen.

We carried out our first workshop on creative reminiscence and its importance in recollecting stories, building trustful connections, and getting conversations going within the community.

Story Catchers created their own spoken word with everyone's input and reflection. They were creative and suggested amazing lyrics to build it up.

The process involved interpreting photographs from a birthday celebration full of music, food, traditions, and culture using a free-writing exercise.

Thank you to our key partners: Enable and the London Borough of Culture 2025 – Wandsworth .
