I was delighted to meet with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, spiritual leader of Eastern Orthodox Christianity worldwide, to reaffirm the urgent need to pursue greater inter-religious connection and understanding during these challenging times.

As Jewish communities around the world gather to mark Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, the Right Revd Dr Anderson Jeremiah, Bishop of Edmonton, sends his warmest greetings and good wishes to the Jewish community across North London.

At a time of uncertainty and division, we give thanks for the strong bonds of friendship between our communities, and for the many ways in which Jewish and Christian communities live alongside one another.

May this New Year bring peace, security and hope to you, your families and your communities.

Shanah Tovah u’Metukah, may you have a good and sweet New Year.

We welcome these words from the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Sarah Mullally, as well as the deep pain shared by the Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, Sir Ephraim Mirvis. These words are an important acknowledgment of the deep historical and spiritual connection that the Jewish people have to the land of Israel, alongside Christians and Muslims. It is essential that we recognise this is a land that many feel tied to and that we listen to the many perspectives of those that are linked to it. We agree that it has become harder to hear one another; the work of CCJ strives to do just this. We welcome all those who wish to do likewise to join us in this important work.

Thank you to Archbishop of Canterbury Sarah Mullally ‘for taking the time to bear witness, listen, and stand in solidarity with those affected by the events of 7 October’ at this important exhibit.

We were honoured to welcome The Archbishop of Canterbury to the Nova Exhibition in London.

Accompanied by her husband, she spent over an hour carefully walking through the exhibition, meeting survivors and bereaved family members, and listening to their stories with great compassion and attention.

Pictured here with Daniella Dor Levin, and Omri Rahoum, members of the Nova delegation.

Thank you, , for taking the time to bear witness, listen, and stand in solidarity with those affected by the events of 7 October.

The Council of Christians and Jews are delighted to congratulate CCJ Vice President Henry Grunwald KC on his CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

His award is in recognition of his work as Chair of the National Holocaust Centre and Museum, and we commend him for his service not only to the NHMC but many communal organisations including CCJ.

The Trustees and all at CCJ thank him for his wisdom, support and friendship.
