The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set to take place this Friday at St John's Deaf Community Centre, and concerns have been raised about certain committee members who have contributed to a toxic atmosphere. Consequently, four committee positions at the SJDCC have been vacated.
You now have the opportunity to vote—either to allow this harmful environment to persist or to remove those responsible in order to restore a peaceful and welcoming community.
One particular committee member has been at the centre of ongoing discord, consistently exhibiting behaviours such as excessive criticism, manipulation, coercion, deception, and bullying. Their relentless hostility has caused significant psychological distress for both committee staff and members. In some cases, their actions may also be linked to hate-motivated behaviour, further deepening the impact on individuals and the community as a whole.
