Revives National Heritage with "Best Palestinian Dish" Competition in London
London, January 25, 2026 – In a remarkable cultural demonstration aimed at preserving and defending Palestinian heritage, The Association of the Palestinian Community in Britain organised the "Best Palestinian Dish" competition on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in London. The event witnessed a large turnout from members of the Palestinian community and their supporters, who gathered to celebrate the ancient Palestinian cuisine and participate in voting for the winning dishes.
The competition successfully highlighted the richness and diversity of Palestinian cuisine, with 18 male and female chefs of different ages and from various Palestinian regions participating, presenting primeum dishes representing the entire geography of Palestine. Palestinian and Arab families flocked to enjoy the festive atmosphere, which included traditional Palestinian music and speeches emphasizing the importance of adhering to identity and history.
In this context, Dr. Nehad Khanfar, President ofThe Association of the Palestinian Community in Britain, stated: "This type of cultural resistance is essential to keep the Palestinian idenity and to connect our history and past with the present and future of our new generations, especially in the diaspora." He added, "The age of the youngest Palestinian dish is much older than the age of the occupation state that is trying to seize and steal it."
The APCUK expressed its pride in organizing this event, which represents a successful model of popular diplomacy and cultural resistance aimed at preserving Palestinian history. The association affirmed that these efforts come in the context of confronting the continuous attempts of the occupation to steal and falsify Palestinian culture, including the appropriation of historical foods that constitute a well-established heritage extending for centuries.

Twinning Agreement Signed Between the Cities of Nablus, Palestine, and Brent, United Kingdom
London – In a move aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, a twinning agreement was officially signed between the Palestinian city of Nablus and the Brent Council in the British capital, London.
The agreement was signed by Dr Nehad Khanfar, President of the Association of the Palestinian Community in the UK (APCUK), on behalf of the city of Nablus. The ceremony was attended by a notable gathering of members from the Arab and Palestinian communities, Brent Council members, and supporters of the Palestinian cause.
In his address, Dr Khanfar affirmed that this partnership represents a connection to the ancient history and rich heritage of Nablus. He commended the efforts of the twinning committee in Brent, led by its chairman, Mr Ehtesham Afzal, and its vice-chairman, Mr Yahya Sarhan, who was one of the primary founders of the initiative.
This agreement gains its significance as an embodiment of solidarity with Palestine in Britain and as a success for public diplomacy mechanisms in building direct bridges between the citizens of the two cities. Dr Khanfar noted that adopting public diplomacy creates new avenues, distinct from political diplomacy, which often fails to address cultural, historical, and identity-related matters. These aspects are typically viewed through a narrow political lens that does not serve the broader framework, particularly in terms of bringing people closer together. The twinning committee has announced a joint action program with the Palestinian Community Association to develop and enhance future twinning programs.

The Annual Winter Fair: A Resounding Success for the Palestinian Community

**LONDON, UK – December 8, 2025** – The Annual Winter Fair, held yesterday under the banner of "The Taste of the Palestinian Christmas," was a resounding success, drawing hundreds of members of the Palestinian community and their supporters to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Ealing.

The event, which ran from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, was filled with a vibrant and positive atmosphere, as attendees came together to celebrate their shared identity and rich cultural heritage. The fair was a feast for the senses, showcasing a wide array of Palestinian treasures, from the irresistible aroma of fresh Nabulsi Kunafa and Palestinian coffee to the intricate beauty of traditional crafts and Bethlehem products. Guests had the opportunity to purchase unique Christmas gifts, food products, and a wide range of books on Palestine, while enjoying Palestinian music.

Dr Khanfar, the head of APCUK, expressed his delight with the event's outcome, stating, "The event was a huge success, and it was wonderful to see how the Palestinians come together to celebrate their identity."

The fair was not only a celebration of culture but also a demonstration of community spirit and generosity. All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to providing winter clothes for children in Gaza, a cause that resonated deeply with all who attended.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsor, **Levantine Express**, for their invaluable support in making this event possible.
