✨ A Special Mission & Movement Monday Message from Ghana! 🇬🇭💛

During a recent Back-to-School Outreach visit to Morkplikpo School, we were deeply moved by what we witnessed — the resilience, joy, and unwavering spirit of both students and teachers.

This school serves four communities and more than 300 children. For some time, the entire school has shared just two computers to teach ICT and basic technology skills. At our latest visit, we learned that one of those computers had completely broken down, leaving one working computer for hundreds of eager young learners.

And yet… what stood out most was not what was missing.

It was the hope. The curiosity. The excitement.

Children gathered closely around the single computer, patiently waiting for a chance to learn, explore, and touch a world of possibility. In their eyes, you could see something powerful — the belief that learning matters, that their future matters.

Moments like these remind us why we do this work.

Not simply to provide resources, but to nurture possibility, expand access, and walk alongside communities where dreams are alive, even in the face of limitation.

We will be sharing more soon about an upcoming Mission & Movement fundraiser to help strengthen ICT learning opportunities at the school.

Until then, we hold gratitude for these students, these teachers, and this beautiful community that continues to inspire us through their courage, determination, and heart.

Together, small steps with love create lasting impact. 💛✨

A powerful milestone in Kakuma. ✨🧵🏗️

We are so excited to share the completion of the new construction expansion for the Women’s Vocational Tailoring Program in Kakuma Refugee Camp. What began as a vision rooted in love, dignity, and opportunity is continuing to grow into something even bigger for this community. 💕

This expansion represents more than buildings. It represents access. Movement. Possibility.

Our newly expanded classroom space will allow us to welcome more women into the tailoring program — creating greater opportunity for skill development, confidence, income generation, and community leadership. These women are not only learning a craft… they are building futures. 🪡✨

The additional extension also creates secure parking for our new transportation vehicle — a major step forward for the program. With transportation, we will now be able to reach and bring women from other areas of the camp to the center, expanding access to education and opportunity for those who may not otherwise be able to attend. 🚐💫

Small steps, with love, create big impact.

Every wall raised here carries a deeper message:
women matter, access matters, and community-led empowerment changes lives. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in this work and walk alongside us. The ripple effect of what is being built here is only beginning. 🌍✨

There is something incredibly powerful about watching women discover new possibilities within themselves 💕🧵✨

Our Women’s Vocational Tailoring Program in Kakuma continues to be a beautiful reminder of what can happen when opportunity, community, and determination come together. Many of these women began this journey with little to no sewing experience, and now they are not only learning a new craft, but building confidence, connection, and encouragement for one another along the way.

These photos capture moments of creativity, teamwork, and resilience as the women practice measurements, work with fabrics, and continue strengthening their skills side by side. What makes this program so meaningful is that it’s about more than sewing. It’s about empowerment, dignity, opportunity, and women uplifting women.

The spirit and dedication of these women continue to inspire the Kakuma community — and all of us witnessing their journey unfold. We cannot wait to see the future they create with their own hands 💕

There’s something powerful about starting before you’re ready… and this was one of those moments 💕

Flashback to the beginning of City Chik on a Mission.

The logo said it all before I even fully had the words—
a heart… and grit.
Because that’s what it takes to build anything that actually matters.

Connect. Create. Change.
Not just a tagline—an intention. A way of moving in the world.

This was born in a moment that didn’t go the way I thought it would.
I had auditioned for the OWN Network ( Oprah)—with a vision to have my own show…
one that would break silos, challenge norms, and create a movement rooted in connection and truth.  The title was to be City Chik on a Mission.

And it didn’t pan out.

But instead of waiting…
instead of shrinking that vision…

I decided: I’ll build it my way.

No perfect plan.
No clear roadmap.
No answers on the “how.”

Just a deep knowing in my heart that
we are here to love each other, empower each other, and help each other.

So I took the first step.
And then another.
And then another.

That’s how this began.

Not with certainty—
but with courage.
Not with clarity—
but with conviction.

And looking back… that was the magic. ✨

Because the truth is—
the “show” was never meant to be confined to a screen.

It became a movement.
A living, breathing expression of what happens when we choose connection over separation… action over waiting… love over fear.

If you’re sitting on something, waiting for the perfect moment…
this is your reminder:

You don’t need all the answers.
You just need to start.

Be You | You are Magic
Be One | We are all Interconnected

Nursing Scholarship Scheme Update | Ghana, Africa 🇬🇭💕
One of the most beautiful things about Mission & Movement is this: when someone is empowered through this community, they often turn around and become the blessing for someone else.” ✨

Beatrice is living proof of that. ✨

As a recipient of the Mission & Movement Nursing Scholarship, she is now stepping forward with a heart to serve and a vision rooted in dignity, empowerment, and opportunity for young women.

She is preparing to launch a special campus outreach for new students—distributing over 100 sanitary pads while creating meaningful conversations around personal hygiene, self-care, confidence, and the power of education.

This is bigger than one act of kindness. This is the ripple effect of love in motion.

When we invest in one girl, we often impact an entire community—because she pays it forward.

That is the heart of Mission & Movement. Small steps, with love, creating big impact. 💫

Please keep Beatrice in your prayers and join us in celebrating this beautiful next chapter.

When you empower a girl, you transform a community. 🌍💖

Today we are featuring Mama Savant’s Green Vegetable Initiative. 🪴🪏

Mama Savant and Furaha provide the Kakuma Refugee camp with locally grown fresh vegetables from their garden. With the support of Mission and Movement, Mama Savant has demonstrated resilience, commitment, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit—leaving a lasting impact to her household and community.

Mama Savant operates a small-scale vegetable business, supplying fresh green vegetables to residents within the camp. Her business addresses a critical need for accessible and nutritious food while also creating a sustainable source of income.

An important milestone in Mama Savant’s journey has been her collaboration with another widow, Furaha. (pictured in slide 2). Recognizing the value of unity and shared growth, Mama Savant invited Furaha to work alongside her. This partnership has strengthened their economic stability and inspired other women in the community to pursue small business opportunities!

Mama Savant and Furaha have a clear, ambitious vision to establish their own small farm close to the Kakuma Refugee Camp, where they can grow fresh vegetables locally. With continued support, her initiative has the potential to grow into a sustainable agricultural model within Kakuma. 💕💕

A message from Nancy Kerubo, teacher and influential leader at the Renda School in Kisii, Kenya:

“Teaching at Renda has been one of the most fulfilling journeys for me. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to inspire, guide, and nurture young minds, especially the girls who look up to me not just as a teacher, but as a role model. Through both challenges and victories, I’ve learned that teaching goes beyond books. It is about shaping confidence, building character, and creating a safe space where every learner feels seen and valued. My experience at Renda continues to grow my passion for education and my commitment to making a difference, one student at a time.” 📚🌍💕

A message from 💕

AI can do more than accelerate business.
It can protect futures.

Muwala is using data to uncover patterns, risks, and realities facing young girls in Uganda—
turning insight into action.

Partnering with Hope Springs Health Foundation, we’re rethinking what’s possible when technology meets purpose.

Less noise. More impact.

🌍 We don’t just witness the world as it is—
we build what it can become.

✨ Small steps. Real impact. Expanding upward.

A Message from the Widows Outreach Program in Ghana 🤍

This year, our first Widows Outreach will take place in Morkplikpo—bringing six communities together in one space of care, dignity, and love.

We will be supporting 105 widows and elderly women—honoring their lives, their strength, and their stories.

Through health talks, hands-on vocational training (soap-making and essential household products), and the distribution of care packages, we’re not just giving—we’re empowering.

Because this work is about more than support.
It’s about reminding these women: you are seen, you are valued, you are NOT alone.

💫 This is what it looks like to show up—with intention, with heart, and with action that actually changes lives.

What if the most important classroom… has no walls? 🌿
No screens. No structure. Just a tree—
and the quiet work of becoming.
Up here, they’re not just playing—
they’re learning courage, balance, trust.
💖 How to try
💖 How to fall
💖 How to rise
A gentle reminder for all of us—
we’re not that different from who we once were.
We still need space to breathe, to explore, to return to what’s real.

Because sometimes, the way forward
is remembering how to climb again. 🌍✨
