David is presenting the BHTA’s new 'UK Healthcare Markets: Economics at a Glance' reports, which provide an economic snapshot of key healthcare markets from 2023 to 2024.

The reports benchmark sector-level data across 10 healthcare markets, including firm numbers, turnover, units sold, market share, and concentration of sector activity. They also highlight key trends across areas such as powered mobility, mobility, stairlifts, aids for daily living, patient handling, beds, surfaces, chairs, service provision, and paediatrics.

At today’s BHTA Joint Section Meeting, members will be discussing the size and shape of BHTA markets — a topic that sits right at the heart of business planning, policy conversations and sector representation.

A few figures from BHTA’s latest UK Healthcare Markets: Economics at a Glance reports:

• Service provision turnover increased from £949.1m in 2023 to £1,024.7m in 2024
• Powered mobility turnover rose by 12.5%
• Stairlifts turnover and volume both increased by 8.2%
• Patient handling turnover increased by 6.3%
• Mobility volume reached more than 2.14m units in 2024
