National Cadet Sergeants Board ✅

This concludes this year’s National Cadet Sergeants Board.

Forty-one cadets from across the country travelled to take part in the penultimate promotion board within the Royal Marines Cadets.

Each cadet is a credit to themselves and their units. Throughout the board, they demonstrated energy, professionalism and a strong “can-do” attitude, even in demanding conditions.

To conclude the event, attendees took part in a field service reflecting on and commemorating the Corps’ history and the final stages of the Falklands War. The occasion was made even more significant by the attendance and reflections of Deputy Royal Marines Cadets Senior Staff Officer, Lt Col Crawley, a Falklands veteran.

We were also able to host Brigadier Salzano, Commander Royal Navy Cadet Forces as he visited the cadets and staff in action during the assessments.

A sincere thank you goes to the volunteer staff team, who began work long before the cadets arrived and continued long after the event concluded. Much of their effort takes place behind the scenes, out of sight, ensuring the cadet experience is delivered to the highest standard - and on this occasion, delivered in abundance.

The Support Company team now turns its attention to the Gibraltar Cup competition in under four weeks…..

RM CFAV Train the Trainer - Weekend 2

Culminating in Training in Woods and Forests (TIWAF)

Relentless. Demanding. Outstanding.

Day 1 pushed cadets and CFAVs into a complex, congested woodland battlespace, where leadership, teamwork, and tactical awareness weren’t optional - they were essential.

With blank ammunition bringing realism to every contact, the training came alive. Decisions mattered. Communication counted. Standards were high.

From fire and movement to troop attacks and TIWAF, every phase tested resilience, sharpened instincts and built confidence under pressure.

The result?
A first-class showcase of what the Royal Marines Cadets are all about.

Massive credit to every cadet and CFAV - effort, attitude and determination on display all day.

And we are not done.
0700 step-off - straight into navigation and map reading. No let-up. No shortcuts.

This is the Royal Marines Cadet experience.

Note: Cadets are taught weapon-handling skills as part of a structured programme of supervised training that emphasises safe and responsible use.

Happy New Year from Support Company, Royal Marines Cadets.

2025 was an outstanding year for National RMC training delivery and events.

To list some of the great work - Highlights included two RM CFAV Train the Trainer courses, a Drill Leaders Course, and the Gibraltar Cup competition held at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines Cadets.

We also delivered the largest-ever National Cadet Sergeants Board, a significant milestone in developing our future leaders.

The Royal Marines Families Day (The Royal Marines Charity) was extremely well supported and showcased the strong and enduring connection we share with the wider Royal Marines family, something we are immensely proud of.

Finally, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who support the national delivery of RMC activities. Without your dedication and commitment, none of this would be possible.

2026 - let’s go.
