💛 Connecting for change in Richmond 💛

A brilliant afternoon at the Richmond CVS Charity Networking Event, representing The Hygiene Bank Hampton alongside the lovely Julia Westgarth from The Hygiene Bank Twickenham.

It was fantastic to be in a room filled with so many charities, community groups, councillors and council officers — all working in different ways to support people across the borough.

For us, it was a valuable opportunity to talk about hygiene poverty, the very real but often hidden need that exists within Richmond, and the work our local Hygiene Bank projects are doing to get essential hygiene and personal care products to people who need them.

Lots of great conversations, new connections and opportunities to work together.

A big thank you to Richmond CVS for bringing our brilliant voluntary and community sector together.

💛 Another delivery out into our local community!

The Hygiene Bank Hampton delivered a fantastic supply of hygiene essentials to our friends at Hanworth Community Larder, helping to make sure local individuals and families can access the everyday basics that so many of us take for granted. Sharon, Fred and the rest of team at HCL do a brilliant job supporting their local community.

Shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorant and other essential toiletries might seem like small things, but having access to them can make a huge difference to someone’s confidence and wellbeing.

A big thank you to everyone who donates products, raises funds and supports our project — this is where your generosity goes. 💛

Together, we’re helping to ensure that hygiene essentials reach the people in our community who need them most.

MEET THE VOLUNTEERS: JANE

Every community has someone who gets things done.

The person who has the idea, the person who organises everyone, the person who remembers the raffle prizes, writes the quiz questions, plans the fundraiser and somehow persuades everyone else that her latest idea is entirely achievable… oh before breakfast!

For The Hygiene Bank Hampton, that’s Jane.

Jane is our chief organiser, quiz creator and seemingly inexhaustible source of fundraising ideas. She’s one of those people for whom volunteering isn’t really something she does — helping her community seems to be woven into who she is.

And if you know The Jolly Coopers Hampton, you know Jane. She’s part of the charisma and magic of the place: a big personality with a gorgeous smile, the most infectious laugh and an extraordinary ability to seemingly know everyone - and their stories. She’s known and loved by an enormous number of people in Hampton and the area.

Away from organising the rest of us, Jane is a keen netball lover and gardener — although we’re not entirely sure where she finds the time.

Her community involvement certainly doesn’t stop with The Hygiene Bank.

From charity events and community celebrations to quizzes, plant sales, Bling a Duck and whatever she dreams up next, Jane gives an extraordinary amount of her time, energy and personality to bringing people together and raising money for local causes.

Ask Jane what needs doing and there’s a fairly good chance she’s already done it.

And that’s perhaps what we love most about her. Her ideas aren’t only about raising money. They’re about creating occasions where people meet, laugh, get involved and feel part of something.

That’s so important to us at The Hygiene Bank Hampton, because community is at the 🧡 of everything we do too.

We’re so lucky to have her on our team — and Hampton is very lucky to have her too.

Thank you, Jane — for the ideas, the organisation, the laughter, the energy and the countless hours you give to our community. And for the rubber ducks!

Always a pleasure catching up with our wonderful Mayor Nancy Baldwin 💛

Tonight the team has been enjoying the sunshine in the beautiful gardens of York House for the 2026 Richmond Leader’s Reception.

It was wonderful to network with other organisations and charities who do such amazing work within the borough of Richmond.

So great to see our local government representatives, Councillor Gareth Roberts and Councillor Carey Bishop. They are so encouraging and supportive of the work we do at The Hygiene Bank Hampton 💛

🍻💛 What an incredible weekend at the Hampton B**r Festival!

Pictured here with Elaine from Hampton B**r Festival & The Sea Scouts and Ali from Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, representing three of the chosen charities supported by this fantastic community event.

A huge thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, enjoyed the b**r and gin bar, volunteered, attended and helped make the festival such a success. Your support will make a real difference.

The proceeds donated to The Hygiene Bank Hampton will help us provide essential Summer Holiday Hygiene Kits to local families, ensuring children and young people have access to the everyday hygiene products they need throughout the school holidays.

We’re so grateful to be part of such a generous and supportive community. 💙

💛 Behind every donation bag, collection point and delivery is a group of local volunteers giving their time to help others in our community.

But somewhere along the way, something else happened too.

Friendships 🩷formed. People connected.
And a small local project became a real community.

The Hygiene Bank Hampton is powered entirely by volunteers — people with different backgrounds, jobs, ages and experiences, all brought together by a shared belief that nobody should have to go without basic hygiene essentials.

What started as “helping out” has become laughter over coffee, WhatsApp chats, heavy lifting, event planning, school deliveries, silly and serious conversations and a lot of yellow bags 💛 💛💛

These photos capture something we’re really proud of - not just the work we do, but the people behind it.

Community support doesn’t only help those receiving donations. It brings people together too 🌟💫✨✨. https://thehygienebank.com/donate/

A huge thank you to the Hampton Hill Association for inviting The Hygiene Bank Hampton to speak at their AGM held at The Greenwood Centre.

Volunteers Sarah and Jane shared more about the work we do to tackle hygiene poverty and support people in our local community.

It was also lovely to meet Cllr Matthew Wherry and Cllr Jonathan Cardy. Thank you to everyone who listened, supported and help shine a light on hygiene poverty in our community 💛
