Today is AI Awareness Day, a new initiative aimed at building AI literacy in schools. The introduction of this day reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence in daily life and the importance of using AI safely.

As with all areas of online safety, talking to your child about AI is one of the most important things you can do. Try asking what they use AI for, how they check that information is accurate and if there is anything they’d avoid using AI for. These conversations can help you gain an insight into their AI use and open the door for ongoing discussions.

Many of us are familiar with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) ratings across television and film. But did you know these ratings aren't always used on streaming platforms?

While there isn't a legal requirement to include BBFC ratings, doing so means that content on streaming services is age rated in line with what parents are used to. When this isn't done, setting parental controls can become even more confusing, especially if you're trying to block specific content!

Does your child's favourite streaming platform use BBFC ratings? Or do you use a different system when setting parental controls? 💬

This , we’re highlighting free support available for foster carers navigating children’s digital lives. 💚

For many children, the online world is where friendships, learning and support happen every day, which means supporting children online has become an important part of fostering too.

In partnership with The Fostering Network, we offer free CPD-accredited online learning courses designed to help foster carers build confidence around online safety, digital wellbeing and supporting children to thrive online.

Whether it’s understanding apps, managing screen time or having conversations about online experiences, the courses provide practical support for everyday challenges.
