Green Up Your Act brings environmental issues to life through stimulating discussions, engaging presentations and creative workshops for both primary and secondary education. We are passionate about all things sustainable: recycling, up-cycling, global/local biodiversity, endangered species & their habitats and the growing of seasonal food.

🌊⚙️ From oil to offshore wind – a new chapter for Scotland’s energy story.

Standing on the beach looking across at one of Scotland’s early oil and gas hubs, it’s amazing to see how the landscape of energy is changing.

The same North Sea that helped power generations through oil and gas is now becoming a major part of Scotland’s renewable energy future, with huge vessels like this helping to build the next generation of offshore wind turbines. 🌬️

It’s a brilliant example of how skills, infrastructure and experience from our energy past can help create a cleaner future.

This is the kind of food system that makes sense — grown locally, made at home, shared between neighbours, and with very little waste.

Good food doesn’t need to travel miles or come wrapped in plastic. 🌱

🌿The fig is the only thing that seems to be enjoying this heat! 🌞

Just look at the progress it’s made! From a little plant to this absolute jungle of beautiful leaves. 🌱🌿

While everything else is looking a bit thirsty, the fig is clearly loving every bit of sunshine. I’m hoping all this growth means we’ll be rewarded with plenty of fruit and shade 🌳😌🌤️ talk about the cooling effects of a large-leaf plant, it really does make a noticeable difference in the garden, creating its own little pocket of cool air under all that lush canopy 🪴🌿🪴🌿🪴🌿

I love discovering places like this. 🌱🍅

The tomatoes I bought from Shillingford Organics today were honestly the best I’ve had all year – packed with flavour and exactly how tomatoes should taste.

It’s so nice to support local organic growers who put so much care into what they produce. They really deserve our support. 💚

Now I’m curious… has anyone been to their farm shop and café? I’d love to hear what it’s like!

Back where it all began. 💙

Seeing The Real McCoy in Exeter again brought back so many memories. My first job was here, and it sparked something I never expected a fascination with vintage clothing, design craftsmanship and the stories behind design.

That experience inspired me to study for a Degree in the History of Design in Brighton, a path that shaped the way I see creativity, sustainability and the value of giving things a second life.

Funny how one part-time job can influence the rest of your journey.

Sometimes it’s worth looking back to appreciate how far you’ve come.

The start of the summer holidays, it’s always a great time to reflect on the moments that have made the school year special. 🌱

One highlight was our Green Up Your Act day with Year 5 at St Faith’s, Cambridge.

As part of their Eco-Schools review, the school shared:

“The Green Up Your Act day for Year 5 was another standout moment, with pupils still talking about what they learned.”

There’s nothing better than seeing young people inspired by sustainability, nature and the world around them — and knowing the conversations continue long after the workshop has finished.
