There was a heartwarming moment at our Men’s Shed recently, as one of our service users helped to reunite a baby bird with its mother.

Wood sculptor Zahi was working in the Shed when he came across a small bird looking lost in our garden. He made sure it was safe and comfortable, and offered it some water. We then spotted a bigger bird calling out to it, and the little one started to respond. After a short rest, the baby bird gathered its strength, and flew off to be with its mother again.

Sa’ad volunteers with our After School Club, where he helps to create a safe and welcoming environment where children can come to have fun, and to learn.

He’s been volunteering with us for several years now, but his story goes back over 70 years, when his family moved to find safety in the UK.

Nina is a volunteer with our Community Champions project, where she promotes health and wellbeing through a variety of activities in the community. She told us what volunteering means to her, and what led her from her roots in India to supporting our south Westminster community today.

A massive thank you goes out to Informed Solutions for their continued and creative efforts to raise funds for our charity!

They’ve now held several different events to support us and our community. This time their team ran a mystery raffle, which raised over £500.

Informed Solutions are supporting our Carers Group, which provides vital support for some of the millions of unsung heroes who are unpaid carers.

We’re ready for a scorcher this bank holiday weekend 😎

Thanks to funding from Westminster City Council's Resilience Team, we now have 190 cool kits to give out to people who are most at risk during the hot weather. These include cooling pads, sprays, hats, fans, and more.
