We're thrilled to see participants from Friends of FAB (Families' Activity Breaks) at this year's Cateran Yomp!

The Yomp really does bring people together. FAB Camps provides activity breaks for bereaved military children, and we’re proud to support them through regular funding.

🌞Happy June!🌞

Why not spend a summers weekend exploring a garden with the National Garden Scheme?

Thanks to generous funding from NGS, we're able to support organisations who use gardening and horticulture to improve mental and physical wellbeing.

When you visit a garden, it helps us to continue supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families.

Less than 48 hours to go… the 2026 Cateran Yomp is almost here!

Our incredible participants are gearing up to take on the ultimate challenge — conquering the full 54-mile Cateran Trail in just 24 hours.

From unpredictable Scottish weather to tough hills, challenging bogs and everything in between, it’s going to be a true test of endurance and spirit.

We’re so excited to welcome back our seasoned Yompers and see some fresh faces.

Let’s do this. Let’s get our Yomp on! 💪

Around 15 years ago, Chris established a regular charity book stall at Salisbury Charter Market with all proceeds going to the ABF. The stall now runs every Saturday and has grown significantly in popularity.

In addition to raising funds for good causes, the stall also gives thousands of books a new lease of life that might otherwise have been discarded.

Thanks to Chris’s dedication, the volume of donations has increased, the stall has become a valued community asset, and it continues to bring together volunteers and book lovers alike.

Only a few days to go until we gather for the Cateran Yomp for another incredible weekend of trekking, fundraising and, of course, great food.

Ask any returning Yomper and they’ll tell you the food on route is always a highlight. And with Chef Robert Irvine stepping in as Executive Chef this year, it’s set to be even better. Exciting new additions will help keep everyone fuelled along the way, including Rigatoni Bolognese...and that’s just the beginning.

We’re delighted to welcome Chef Robert Irvine and the Robert Irvine Foundation back to Blairgowrie for our annual 54-mile challenge in support of soldiers, veterans and their families. If you spot them on the course, be sure to say hello!

For , we’re sharing stories from some of our incredible volunteers who make our charity proud.

Martin volunteers with the Army Benevolent Fund’s local office in Scotland, supporting PR activity.

In addition to his volunteering, Martin has also pledged to leave a gift in his Will to the ABF.

Martin says: “Sometimes it’s more about the little things. I love that the ABF helps improve lives by, say, tarmacking an ex-soldier’s drive so they can get their disability vehicle to the front door. Things like that make a huge difference, and it’s one of the reasons why I like to talk about the benefits of legacy giving. The more people who know about it, the more causes will benefit.”

Today marks the start of , celebrating and recognising the incredible contributions of volunteers.

We’re so grateful to the many volunteers who support us at local events, and today we’d like to say a huge thank you to those who helped with bucket collections outside the Royal Hospital Chelsea during the Chelsea Flower Show this May.

Amongst our volunteers were members of the Scots Guards who put in a huge effort to raise vital funds for soldiers, veterans, and their families.

As draws to an end, we would like to shine a light on one of our partner charities, the Armed Forces Equine Charity, which supports serving personnel, veterans, their families and local communities.

We have recently awarded a grant of £22,650 to support the charity’s Veterans Active Recovery Programme, funding 20 places for Army veterans. This grant will help ensure that more veterans can access the sustained, compassionate, support they need to improve their mental health and build positive futures beyond service.
