London Welcome Project

London Welcome Project Now closed. The London Welcome Project (LWP) is a member-driven social centre where asylum seekers and refugees can meet.

On Sunday afternoons we offer a warm and welcoming space where our members can socialise, share experiences, learn from one another and engage in activities such as English lessons and games. We have a small library, and computers with internet access. We can also provide ad hoc help with things like CVs, job applications, and can signpost to other services for migrants in London. We also have a b

ike project where refugees and asylum seekers can receive a free bike to travel around London. Everyone is welcome to bring their bike to us if it needs a fix, and learn how to maintain their bikes.

As some of you know the London Welcome Project (LWP) has not been open for 2 months now, and we have decided to officially close the project. We have been in discussion about how best to move forward for a while and we didn’t come to this decision easily. We have done some research into the need for our project currently and as a result have decided that the resources we do have would be better distributed to support other local projects.

We want to thank everyone who has been involved in the project over the past 5 years, and encourage visitors and volunteers to get involved other initiatives.
