We had a wonderful Creative Careers Fair for our older Member Playwrights last night! A fantastic collection of industry professionals came to offer their expertise; writers, producers, filmmakers, a casting director, an agent, a wardrobe supervisor, a lighting trainee and a fight director all shared their wisdom and experience. We are so grateful to SISTER, Ink Factory, Bright/Shift, The Foundry Personal Management, Emma Blacklay-Piech, Heather Basten, Zak Zarafshan, Oliva Ward, Toshiq Azam and Bret Yount for giving their time and valuable advice to our Member Playwrights. Future creative job ideas were inspired, great chats were had and delicious pizza was eaten!

This week we took a group of Member Playwrights aged 13-15 to see the incredible 'Stranger Things' in the West End! What a treat to see our very own Scene & Heard volunteer Rufus Wright's stellar performance 😍 Our Member Playwrights were blown away by the jump scares and special effects and had the best time with everyone marking the show at least 10 out of 10 with a couple of 11's too!

This week we began putting the finishing touches to our beautiful home in Somers Town! With the help of the wonderful team at The Edit Collective, a group of Member Playwrights aged 12 – 24 each designed their own brick inspired by their time at Scene & Heard. Lots of fun was had with many different generations of Member Playwrights meeting, chatting and creating 😊 The designs will be turned into shiny aluminium bricks cemented into the ground at the Member Playwright gate entrance to our HQ! Stay tuned for the final reveal...😉

Looking back at our incredible professional actor volunteers over the years, we’re so lucky to have their skills bringing our child playwrights' words to life imaginatively and truthfully since 1999! Check out the giddy mix of animals, objects and elements of nature portrayed in this snapshot.

It was our 10-12 year olds' time to shine in 'So...My Mum's a Zookeeper!'

The final day of our Creative Arts Week 2026 was full of paws-itively brilliant performances and sloth-isticated dance routines! 🐅🐆🐘🐒🐊🐋
