What does it mean to reimagine theology in a way that reflects the experiences and wisdom of communities across the world?

At the Episcopal Divinity School's Annual Kellogg Lecture in Cambridge, Massachusetts, our Theological Advisor and Regional Manager for the Americas and the Caribbean, Dr Paulo Ueti, joined a panel discussion following a keynote lecture on Rejecting Eurocentric Christianity.

Alongside theologians and church leaders, participants explored how Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and other historically marginalised voices can help shape the future of Christian thought and practice.

We were also encouraged to hear the Very Revd Lydia Bucklin highlight several global programmes supported by EDS, including the Emerging Leaders Academy, FeAST, and our Indigenous Theology work.

💬 "EDS is envisioned as a strategic North American partner that can host critical reflection, amplify Indigenous and Afro-descendant theological voices, and help shape Episcopal and Anglican advocacy at the intersection of theology, climate justice, and racial justice." – Dr Paulo Ueti

Following last week's USPG Conference, 'For Christ is our Peace', the conversation continues.

Sophia Jones, our Interim Director of Communications, Engagement and Fundraising, has written a reflection for St Paul's Cathedral exploring what it means to 'say yes to peace' in our daily lives.

Reflecting on Jesus' call to be peacemakers, Sophia asks how we can respond faithfully in a world affected by conflict, division, and uncertainty. Her conclusion is both simple and profound: peace begins with Christ, who is our peace, and flows out into our communities and the wider world.

💬 "Let's start with ourselves and trust Christ to guide our prayers for peace in our communities and the world."

We encourage you to read Sophia's thoughtful reflection and consider where God may be calling you to say yes to peace.

Our final day at focused on the Church as a public witness to Christ's peace.

In a moving Bible study, Bishop Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy reflected on the Beatitudes and challenged us to consider what it means to be communities shaped by lament, accompaniment, and peacebuilding. He reminded us that peacemaking is not simply a political strategy, but a theological vocation rooted in who we are as God's people.

We also heard from a panel including Archbishop Designate Sally Sue Hernández García, Bishop Lusa, and Ivy Manning exploring the "dividing walls" that continue to create injustice in our communities and how the Church can help transform them.

Some highlights from the day included:
🔹 Bible study with Bishop Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy
🔹 Panel discussion on justice, reconciliation, and public witness
🔹 Beautiful Sending Eucharist with worship in many languages from across the Anglican Communion

💬 "Peacemaking at its root is not a political strategy, but a theological vocation. It reflects whose children we are." - Bishop Lusa

We ended with a beautiful Eucharist celebrating the diversity of the global Church and sending us out to live what we have learned.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for USPG Conference 2026. We hope to see you again next year!

Another inspiring day at .

Yesterday's sessions explored peace as something far deeper than simply the absence of conflict. Through Scripture, lived experience, and conversation, we reflected on how Christ's presence brings healing, reconciliation, and hope in places marked by fear, grief, and division.

Bishop Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy's Bible study invited us to consider what genuine flourishing—Shalom—might look like in our own communities, and what changes may be needed to make it a reality.

Archbishop Designate Sally Sue Hernández García shared moving stories from the Anglican Church of Mexico, where churches continue to accompany families affected by trafficking and drug cartel violence, witnessing to Christ's presence even amid profound suffering.

Other highlights included:
🔹 Workshops and group discussions
🔹 Panel discussion on peace in different local contexts
🔹 Evening fellowship and the USPG Pub Quiz!

💬 "Peace is not just the absence of conflict, but experiencing the risen Christ."

Thank you to everyone who continues to share so generously in these conversations. Please tag us in any of your own highlights of the conference so far!

What a way to begin .

Our first day together challenged us to think more deeply about what it means to say that Christ is our peace in a world marked by conflict, division, and injustice.

In his keynote address, Dr Jude Lal Fernando drew on his experiences of growing up during conflict in Sri Lanka and later living in Ireland. His message was both challenging and hopeful: peace is possible in places of struggle because the suffering Christ is already present there.

💬 "We don't condone injustice, but we are responsible for how we respond." - Dr Jude

Day 1 also included:
🔹 Opening prayers and worship
🔹 Workshops and group discussions
🔹 Evening marshmallows and chats
🔹 A fantastic steel pan performance to round off the day,

Thank you to everyone who has joined us so far. Stay tuned for Day 2!

In a historic first, the Anglican Diocese of Botswana has ordained 14 women to the priesthood, the first such ordinations within the Anglican Church of the Province of Central Africa.

After years of discernment, advocacy, training, and faithful waiting, this joyful moment marks a significant milestone in the life of the Church across Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi.

As Archbishop Albert Chama reflected:

“Today, history has been made.”

We give thanks for the ministry and witness of these newly ordained priests, and pray for them as they begin their next chapter of service.

📖 ReStorying Nicaea: In the Empire but not of the Empire? — a new theological resource

1700 years after the Council of Nicaea, this new collection brings together theologians, priests, poets, and church leaders from across the global Church to reflect on the continuing significance of the Nicene Creed in today’s world.

Commissioned by The Revd Canon Dr Peniel Rajkumar, Global Theologian and Director of Global Mission here at USPG, the resource emerged from a gathering in Türkiye last year which explored questions of faith, empire, justice, ecology, and Christian identity.

Contributors offer a fresh re-reading of the Creed— asking how Christians might faithfully proclaim “one Lord, Jesus Christ” in a world shaped by nationalism, inequality, environmental destruction, and the legacies of colonialism.

As Peniel reflected:

“A moment of re-receiving our common faith in our uncommon times, so that this faith can be embodied and enacted in ways which, following Jesus, say a resounding no to empires both past and present and a resilient yes to all that affirms life.”
