The 2026 Speaker Meet takes place on Sunday 22 February 2026 at the well-known home of the original owner-led speaker meets, The Charnwood Arms. Following a format that many will already be familiar with, this afternoon event is firmly focused on system owners rather than manufacturers, while still remaining open and welcoming to brands who wish to attend.
The aim of the Speaker Meet is to allow DJs, musicians and audio enthusiasts to demonstrate and compare privately owned sound systems outside of a traditional showroom setting. By using a real-world listening environment, attendees can hear how different systems perform in practical conditions, often revealing strengths and characteristics that are not always apparent in controlled retail demos. This approach continues to make the event particularly useful for those considering future purchases, upgrades, or simply broadening their understanding of live sound.

NADJ CIC has registered its interest in becoming a recognised delivery organisation capable of supporting individuals who access MOD resettlement and transition funding, subject to the relevant approval and recognition frameworks.

Resettlement and transition support provided through the Ministry of Defence is intended to help service leavers, reservists, veterans and their families move into civilian employment or self-employment. Under these schemes, the individual applies for the funding, while education, training or employability support must be delivered by a recognised or approved provider. NADJ CIC’s role is to provide a structured, accountable pathway through which eligible individuals can use that funding within the DJ and events sector.

The emphasis is on practical, outcomes-led provision rather than generic training.

Following review of the consultation responses, the CIC Board proposes the following membership tier structure, which will now move forward to implementation. This structure is intended to be clear, minimal, and scalable, with optional add-ons and services layered on over time.
It is important to note that NADJ Pro and NADJ Gold remain the association’s primary professional tiers. These are the tiers through which additional services, commercial benefits, and enhanced member support will be delivered as the organisation continues to develop. While some benefits within the Pro tier may currently appear dormant, they reflect the direction the CIC is moving in and will be reactivated as delivery capacity and staffing are put in place.
The lower tiers are intentionally defined and will remain so. They provide access and alignment but will not be expanded to include Pro or Gold-level benefits. Future enhancements will sit exclusively within NADJ Pro and NADJ Gold.

Following review of the consultation responses, the CIC Board proposes the following membership tier structure, which will now move forward to implementation.

Most DJs spend on average around £100 pa to get their PAT/Electrical Equipment Testing done, and even then it’s often incomplete or lacks robust paperwork that will stand up if ever called upon. PAT/EET testing is essential for safety and compliance, but too many go unchecked.
That’s why the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) is launching Tea & Test Days – relaxed, informal events where members can:
👉 Get their equipment PAT/EET tested properly for FREE!
👉 Enjoy a brew and socialise with fellow DJs
👉 Access expert advice on health, safety, and wellbeing.
These days won’t just be about gear. We’re also working on bringing in mental health and wellbeing specialists to support members, because looking after your wellbeing matters just as much as looking after your kit.

A question for working DJs.

We’re exploring the idea of bringing back a proper professional trade show for mobile DJs — aimed squarely at people who earn their living from events.

The intention would be an autumn / October event, UK-based, with a £100 ticket price.

Why £100? Because paid entry helps ensure:
• Attendees are there to buy, invest, and engage
• Exhibitors have meaningful conversations with decision-makers
• The event can be delivered to a professional standard and stand on its own feet

For context, the aim would be to recreate the feel of those heady NEC days — a focused, professional environment built around working DJs and meaningful engagement.

What makes this viable for NADJ is the way the organisation is now structured. As a professional association operating through a Community Interest Company, NADJ can access appropriate financial support via grants where available, while its commercial arm can generate sustainable income.

We are writing to formally confirm that the application to incorporate the National Association of Disc Jockeys as a Community Interest Company (CIC) has now been submitted. This marks the start of the formal transition period, undertaken in accordance with the member vote held in November 2025, which represented the culmination of a three-year programme of consultation, discussion, and member engagement.
The transition to a CIC provides a modern, proportionate, and legally robust framework that enables NADJ to operate effectively as a national membership body, protect member interests, and deliver services in a sustainable and transparent way. This step reflects the direction already agreed by members and is intended to ensure continuity, stability, and long-term viability.
Further information will be issued within the next 21 days, including:

the updated constitution and governance framework,

the revised Code of Conduct,

and details of the updated membership structure and tiers.

As we approach the festive period, I would like to take a moment to thank all members for your continued support throughout 2025. Your commitment to the association and to maintaining professional standards across the industry is genuinely appreciated.

A quick practical reminder ahead of the Christmas break: if you anticipate needing a copy of your Public Liability Insurance certificate, please log in today or tomorrow and download it.

From 24 December through to 2 January, I will be away from the PC and phone as much as possible. There is still a fair chance I’ll reply — just not at the usual speed. Thank you in advance for your patience during this time.

Looking ahead, thank you again for the support you continue to show as we move towards what may be the biggest year in the NADJ’s history. There is a great deal on the horizon, and I hope you are ready for what’s to come.

In the meantime, I wish you all a safe, warm, and enjoyable festive period.

As we approach the festive period, I would like to take a moment to thank all members for your continued support throughout 2025. Your commitment to the

Industry brands and retailers – this is a conversation starter rather than a sales pitch.

There is a simple opportunity to work with the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) that requires very little effort to implement. The idea is an NADJ QR code sticker placed on your product packaging, or a small printed flyer included inside the box (for retailers a roller banner in your store). The same QR code can also sit on your website or product pages.
Each QR code is unique to your brand. When a DJ scans it and joins NADJ using that link, your business receives £25 for every new member referred. Once the QR code is in place, there is no ongoing admin, no fulfilment, and no staff involvement. It simply runs in the background.
To put that into context, refer 100 members per year and that is £2,500 generated passively. It is income created from space and traffic you already already have, with no impact on your core sales activity.

This approach recognises that the DJ industry is a delicate ecosystem. Brands, retailers, and professionals are interdependent. Protecting that ecosystem
