Big Bang Entertainment started out as a college project with communities in mind. We hired out venues in areas such as Holloway, Camden, Southgate, Leytonstone and amongst others and host events like open mic sessions, music showcases, live lounges and many more. Our way of giving back to the community was to donate a percentage of our profits to the chosen charity for the night. We have supported
charities such as Pro Cancer Research Fund, Clic Sergeant, The Shane Project as well as donations to City and Islington College. As this idea was a huge success, the CEO decided to keep the company going but with some changes in accordance to the external environment. In light of recent events, a number of black people being gunned down in America, change and hostility is in the air. People are protesting for the lives of Black people with the aim of fixing the disfunction we call society. With some time to reflect and to self educate, I came across the real issue..."We can cry out for freedom and equality from the top of our lungs but the sad reality is that we may never get that". Take Tottenham for example, which is a diverse community with majority of the residents being black people. There are more shops that are NOT owned by the people of the community than there are which are owned by the residents. Majority of these businesses are not contributing to the community, the business is situated in, but are contributing to theirs. Like stated before, in order to receive true freedom, we need to unite. And in order to do that we need to support each other as much as possible.
