Pride Month, which takes place during June, is far more than just a celebration.
It is a time to recognise the LGBTQ+ community, honour those who fought for equality, and reflect on why visibility, acceptance and equal rights still matter today.

While progress has been made in many countries, LGBTQ+ people can still face discrimination, harassment and unequal treatment simply because of who they are or who they love.

Swipe to learn more about why Pride Month matters, and ways someone can be an ally to the LGBTQ+ not just in Pride Month, but all year round 🏳️‍🌈

We are incredibly pleased the government has announced it will be inviting more black men aged 45 to 74 for prostate cancer checks as part of an ongoing trial in the UK to find better ways of testing for the disease.

Following the release of our prostate cancer awareness film, Your Health is Your Wealth, earlier this year (which centred the experiences of people from African and/or Caribbean heritage affected by prostate cancer), we understand just how critical initiatives like this are in tackling longstanding inequalities in awareness, early diagnosis and outcomes.

This trial represents an important step forward in ensuring that those most at risk are given greater access to potentially life-saving checks, reinforcing the need for continued and targeted engagement with communities who have historically been underserved.

Learning about s*xual wellbeing supports mental health! 💛

Having clear, compassionate information helps us understand our bodies, boundaries, relationships, and emotions, which supports confidence, safety, and connection.

Learning‑based approaches can help us build s*xual self‑esteem, reduce shame, improve communication, and make informed choices.

Remember that s*xual wellbeing isn’t just about s*x, it’s about understanding ourselves, our needs, and how to feel safe and respected with others 🥰

Sometimes when we think about “taking action” for our mental health, we imagine something big – making huge changes, solving problems, or finding immediate answers.
But often, taking action can start much smaller. It can start by simply taking notice 🌸

Feeling confident often starts with feeling at home in your body 🤍
Movement‑based activities like dance, yoga, walking, or group exercise can help us reconnect with our bodies in safe, positive ways, by building trust, awareness, and a sense of choice over how we move!

Taking action and getting active can:
✨ Strengthen body confidence and self‑esteem
✨ Support mental and physical wellbeing
✨ Feel more comfortable with closeness, communication, boundaries, and connection
✨ Improve mindfulness and emotional regulation
✨ Find belonging, creativity, and teamwork in shared movement

Research shows that mindful movement, especially in supportive or social settings, supports embodiment, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing. When we feel more at ease in our bodies, it’s often easier to feel present, confident, and connected with ourselves and others.

💡 Did you know? You can talk to your GP about social prescribing for physical activities that support your mental, physical, and social wellbeing.

Your body is not something to fix - it’s a place to come home to 💫

Connection is an action, and it doesn’t have to be big.
Sometimes it’s a text. A check‑in. A boundary. A conversation. Or asking for support.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, take one small action to build connection for yourself or someone else💬
